Even die hard Leicaphiles will be hard pressed to say anything nice about this camera... Its specs are nothing to write home about, it is BIG and it is positively ugly, not to mention that it carries the usual absurd Leica price tag... What is there to like? What does it do over and above the competition to warrant a premium? What a pity that such a historic mark is fast becoming obsolete...
DrBucky: $2000 for the body and $2000 for the lens seems reasonable for leica. I think they are trying to be more affordable. I'm going to get one. However I prefer a version with no red dot.
Please let me get this straight: 2k for the body and 2k for the lens for a camera that is spec'ed like the 2 year old RX1R, which, incidentally, is cheaper and probably has better IQ (well, at least we already KNOW its IQ, whereas we have yet to see the Q in action and testing). Also, to call 4k affordable is a bit smug. And last but not least, I have to agree that the omission of the red dot will make a huge difference in the whole experience... Sorry, but i simply cannot understand Leica-philes. Then again it's your (hard earned?) money, not mine:)
Simplicity pays:) Great image!
barb_s: This has that "ooohhh" factor that really stands out. Very nice!!
Thank you very much!
Le Kilt: Pity the tip of the wing got cut, but so much detail, nice one.
I know... I was shooting without looking at the monitor or the viewfinder. I was trying to get as many shots of it as possible.
Le Kilt: One of my favourites, simple and well shot :-)
Thank you very much.
