I have no idea what it is, but I am guessing that the globe has been heated to red-hot, then placed over the rod where it will contract as it cools and thus grip tight

Mulberry: I have a portrait of my dog, shot by me. The shot had a busy, distracting background and, as I have limited pp skills, I asked the retouching forum for help in replacing the background. They did a great job, and I am very pleased with the photo which now looks like a formal portrait.
I am unsure whether I can enter this challenge with this shot. The photo of the dog is my own work, but the subsequent retouching was done by a third party.
Can you advise?

thanks
M

Thanks for your knd comments, although at my age I think I am beyond increasing my tribe :)
It's all academc now anyway. The challenge is full.

" please consider giving a higher vote to the photographs that are shot with less expensive equipment."

Given that during voting the equipment used is hidden, then this is not going to be an easy rule to comply with!

As represented by the thugs who punch, kick, bite opponents safe in the knowledge that their punishment will be 5 minutes in the sin-bin!
A game of minimum skill & maximum thuggery - played by "gentlemen" who appear to enjoy grappling each other's bottoms!
There is a lot wrong with football, but it is still the beautiful game when compared to the infantile thuggery that is rugby.

Thanks for the kind comments Doc. It is a great little camera, although I have recently moved on to the E620.

And thanks to everyone who voted for me. My best ever previous was 10th place, and I usually end up somewhere in the bottom half, so was absolutely thrilled to win this challenge.
