That's not a problem if you buy the camera in a regular camera store in downtown Tokyo.
LOT's of tourist buy their cameras in Tokyo Japan.
The stores would have export models for the tourist...
That would be an excellent devise for going to and from places without electricity. :-O

This one was available in my local camera store at the time.
It was not chosen after careful and deliberately research, works great though.
A polarizing filter can be an useful special effect filter under the bright tropical sun! :-)

At one time I had considered buying a camera case, but had not acted on it.
One of the other member had bought one but returned it because of some reason ( I forgot).

The Cannon 500D 52mm closeup lens weight 40.69 gram.
Comparatively the B+W Uv haze filter also 52mm weights 24.19 gram.
Not that much extra weight.
