I wish Sigma would do something interesting like a new 85mm Art lens!
Not sure I'd ever buy one, but seems like a nice bit of kit!
I'm not sure if it's a bad thing but photography wise the dpreview samples are always dull.
Are they having a laugh. Who is going to buy this lens when the alternatives are stunningly sharp, have auto focus and are half the price.
You've got to hand it to Chuck, he is extremely knowledgeable and knows the products down to a T.
I have to admit as a Canon lover this looks phenomenal. However, the low light capability isn't even on test here so it really depends what your uses are.
Shangri La: So this is more like a D3S+ with the '+' being video enhancements and ergonomics/misc changes then...
Or a D3Ss as Apple would call it.
I'm confused. You're all saying the D4 looks better but in my view on RAW mode the D3 looks better. I've checked about 4 different places and the D4 has so much more colour noise.
Photogaz: How many stops is the IS? Don't Tamron mention these things in their press release?
That's great but why is only ever Canon state their stops?

Looks good to me :)
JPnyc: I was there as well and had some hands-on time with the new EOS-1D X.While I am certain it's technically as advanced as it can be, I don't think this camera has seen the hands of any product designer. It really is as ugly as it gets. The handle, which runs around the side and bottom almost looks like the work of a pizza-dow-handler and the back has its buttons scattered - no, make that splattered - all over the place with no visual connection whatsoever. Plus, I almost dropped the beast when someone passed it on to me - this baby is as heavy as a ... newborn rhino! (yeah, I had to think of that for a sec :)
I never knew the look of the camera made people take better photos! I must buy an iPhone then as I will get some killer shots with that.
jackpro: pow canon has hit a home run now we just need some better lenses!
But you can't base it on 1 or 2 lenses. The 70-200 f2.8 II smashes the Nikon variant for example.
Fill me in, what lenses are better with Nikon than they are Canon?
I say this while holding my 70-200 f2.8 IS Mark II ;)
I personally think Canon has better lens options especially in the telephoto area. I can't imagine switching makes as hikenhi, you'll just switch back later.
Good to see other brands of lenses. Canon need to pull their finger out.
Sony is always doing cool stuff with their displays.
A good app, but there's so much you can do using presets now I'm starting to wonder if its worth it?
About time. I don't think there is a future though with 3D glasses and the technology without them doesn't work.
