They seem sharp enough to me as displayed...certainly not fuzzy.

If you do buy a 12-24, buy it used...they can go for as low as $500 used, which actually is cheaper than most 10-24's you see around. If you pay $1100 for a new one you'll never get your money back...

I do mostly landscapes and am really loving my 16-35 VR and 70-200 F4 combination. I do have a 50 1.8g for the gap but rarely need it.

That's a pretty good effort using a DX lens wide open handheld at night ;)
Edit: if it wasn't handheld, as David says a smaller aperture along with lower ISO would have worked better.
