Agreed! I can't live without it. :) So much so that when I handle another brand's camera, I keep looking for it.

Just being curious, does any of your other lenses exhibit this same behavior? If so, are they marque Nikkor or 3rd party brand?
They don't have to be Macro lenses, just any close focusing prime or...

The f-stop indicated is only true at infinity. At 1:1 the focal length is effectively doubled. So in your case, it is now a 300mm lens at 1:1 macro. And since the diameter of the aperture has not...

The b&w shot into the sun is fantastic! Nice job!

My pleasure! Of course it does. Pentax got it right because it is only right to put the button on the right! ;-)

No, it IS in the correct position! The other brands got it wrong. :-D When you need to change lens, all you need to do is press the release button with your right hand ring finger and rotate the...

Hi Alan, I bought a K-5IIs yesterday! Go for the K-5IIs I say! :-) The photos are visibly sharper.

I have both the DAL and DA II versions. The DA II is parfocal but the DAL is not. For the DAL, when I change the FL from 18 to 55 or 55 to 18, the lens will refocus. The difference is very obvious....

With so many beautiful photos in this thread, ASR45 should have no doubt about the capability of this lens and the K-5/II/IIs! :-)

I don't have the K-5IIs...yet but I do have the 60-250. It is such a fantastic lens. And don't discount the 60mm on the wide side. It has proven useful on more than one occasion.
