Kodachrome200: the intresting part of this would be info on how this works with photographers. how much do they get paid ect ect

I guess in ur point of view xmichaelx it is too hard for someone who works as a professional reporter to make an article that is complete!

On Leica T (Typ 701) gains updated firmware version 1.1 article (57 comments in total)

At the end there is no excuse for any "sales representative or whatever workers" in such a - REALLY!- prestigious brand to say ANYTHING that will leave the clients unhappy! If People pay such money for LEICA QUALITY PRODUCTS i suppose is ALSO because they want something they CAN TRUST! Unfortunately, it is looking that Leica(like most others) choose the cheesy way! :(
And that is unfortunate for the world of Photography itself: Leica was after all the quality benchmark that you COULD in the past look up to! :/

Rooru S: "you will get the complete scope of functions and performance as described in the manual of your camera".

So version 1.0 didn't had all the functions stated on the printed manual? Interesting...first the claim that their lenses didn't need optical corrections (when they were Software corrected) and now unfinished in-camera firmware?

HowaboutRAW: I do appreciate that you kept the level truly civilised! Well done! :)
However, even if you almost made me change my mind(!) at the end there is no excuse for any of the workers in such a - REALLY!- prestigious brand to say ANYTHING that will leave the clients unhappy! Why would dpreview excuse a camera maker-and ANY ONE for that matter!- to release something NOT PROPERLY FINISHED?!?
Yes! It does NOT sound very reassuring!!!
EVEN MORE IF YOU ARE PAYING FOR LEICA FAME AND USUAL PRICES!!! -_-

In reply to:

stanmkl: Message from Olympus Japan:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding our product.

We apologize for any inconvenience for
the blurred/shaken images at certain shutter speeds.

As you know "anti-shock 0sec" for E-M1 has been updated and we
believe that this update can help to resolve the shutter shock issue you mentioned.

At this point, there are no firmware updates for E-P5 to resolve the
shutter shock issue.

However, we are planning to update the firmware for E-P5 similar
to "anti-shock 0sec" as well. Please wait for the update to be
released for a while.

We are sorry but we are not able to tell you when the update will be
released at this point.
Please check Olympus homepage from time to time for the latest
information of firmware.

We appreciated your kind cooperation and understanding,
looking forward to see your satisfaction on our service and product.

Best regards,

C.Nishino

In reply to:

Roger Knight: I think that I am correct in my understanding of your findings that; Leica are "lying" about the quality and efficacy of their "T" series lenses.

I think that I will stick with Fuji who had some minor problems early into the "X" series roll out but who were quick to admit their minor mistakes when they became apparent and were keen to fix them whatever the cost, until they are able to produce "best in class" products as they are. Furthermore Fuji have proven that they are prepared to go to extraordinary lengths to correct and remedy any problems in their customers cameras as DPR have attested. I don't think any of their customers could now complain about the products that they bought in the past.
We are not now seeing these admittedly minor problems crop up anymore.
When it comes to the question of industrial fidelity, I prefer the Fuji "active" approach to the arrogance of the Leica approach. It is all about Trust and truth.

jnd, PLEASE start to learn how to read properly texts!!! Or make it shorter for yourself and just read what Rooru wrote above in case you cannot grasp reality by yourself!
Have a good day and don't mind ANYONE if you want to pay 2000 for a underdeveloped, dark normal zoom lens!

Frank_BR: I do not know why DPR gives so much importance to the method of distortion correction. The modern trend is that the bulk of the distortion be partially corrected optically, and the remainder by software. That Leica is a mystifying photography company, we all know long ago.

Yep Olymore, the problema is that Some people don´t want to see the truth: Leica lied! is THAT SIMPLE!!!
But since the begining of times people only believe what they want!!!

David H Dennis: I was at the Leica Store in West Palm Beach, and they had the T.

First, this is a real thing of beauty. It's gorgeous. If you appreciate pretty things, you will want one.

In an age when designer clothes can cost thousands of dollars, I'm not sure why people are so resentful about Leica's high prices. It's just like a designer handbag, but you use it every day. Why not pay a few extra bucks to have a more beautiful and sensuous experience in your photography?

I think a lot of people would love to own this, but can't afford it. That's just the nature of Leica's niche.

I will say that there is substance behind the pretty face. This is the best assembled camera I have ever seen, and I thought the software was beautifully crafted and very well thought out.

Then the Leica guy all but grabbed the camera away from me before I got to really know it. Sad, and poor salesmanship ... but if I was just a little closer to Leica's target demographic, I would have bought one on the spot.

I agree with you Olymore! HOWEVER, if you pay the TOP PRICE you should get the TOP QUALITY!!! WE EXPECT THAT!
And the problema is that since a few years (f)eica is making people pay for Panasonic cameras like if they were Leica!!! Its just the same stupidity and vanity as the famous Sonyblad lunar!!!
Using your car exemple, it would be just like we buy a RollsRoyce only to find out there was a Toyota engine inside, and the new seats were made in cheap fake leather in china!!! :/
