  • A fun set. The event photo works really well as B&W.
  • Exquisite.
  • Replied in Pieta
Wonderful. It has a 645 feel.
  • With an e500, e30, e-pl1 and e-pm1 as reference, I definitely have gotten blurry images from all four. All due to poor shooting technique. With the e-pm1 and a 14-42 IIR, I can consistantly get...
  • This is a real gem. There are paragraphs and paragraphs in that gaze.
  • Commented on Olympus PEN E-P5 Review preview

There is an inherent problem with making global statements based on opinion. For example, conjecture about blurry images maybe being caused by "shutter shock" or maybe created because there might...

  • Commented on Olympus PEN E-P5 Review preview

I suspect part of the clue is that not everyone experiences "shutter shock" at certain shutter speeds. And the effect apparently is heavily dependent on lens used.

    Light weight cameras with light...

Robin Wong's review of the ep5:

  • The email from Olympus does seem to imply that 4/3 lenses are going to be around for awhile. $50 USD off the 12-60 is hardly a sale, from my perspective though. Odd that the email is "Fall Savings...
  • The old rule of thumb is that one is not supposed to shoot midday light & clear sky. But to me, this shows that the exception really is the rule. Wonderful.
  • A yearly event at Old Sturbridge Village, some smoke & flash and the Kings colors: The participants: Americans and Allies1st New Hampshire Regiment1st Continental Regiment2nd Massachusetts...
  • Replied in Agreed
Agreed. Controversy is always good for generating traffic and click-throughs (which seems to be a focus recently). We already know that ##microns out of tolerance on low end adapters can result in...
  • I always wonder what people mean by saying a certain resolution is "okay for web." My work monitor is set up for 1600x900 32bit RGB which means the tallest jpg that can be viewed in its entirety...
  • Hardly a best aesthetically but a technical hurdle overcome. Taken with an e500 (before it succumbed to the write error issue) and a then recently acquired 12-60.  Available light after a few...

Portrait of the Photographer at work: Event coverage for website. Manual mode, OOC jpg. (Resized)
  • Thanks for the link. It's a good reminder that the industry noticed this demographic with potential growth a while back. It is a segment that might want a higher end camera without the size,...
  • The in-camera corrections have me wondering about the "Pro" line of glass. This is the route Panasonic went. But since it doesn't sound like Olympus is dropping the HG & SHG glass, this may be a...
  • I wonder if the Digital Camera market had been more stable whether Olympus would have persued a DSLR update. Given the market however, it would have been understandable for Olympus to abandon the...
  • Really. GX7 First Impressions started back in August, still no full review. PEN E-P5 First Impressions, May, still no full review.

  • I came in the same route you did with the e500 and the two lens kit. For what I need the 8mp was (still is) more than enough. I don't do 36"x48" prints and online newsletter spot photos don't even...
