diforbes: f5.6/6.3 kit lenses? WTF? Where's the good glass, Olympus?

Thanks for the heads up on the possible fast Panny zooms. My ideal lens for one of these 4/3 cams is an f4 24-70 (or longer) mid-range zoom (35mm equivalent focal length).

I want to see how well this pixel-packed sensor does in high ISO testing against the D700, the D4 and the expected 5D Mk III. My needs are for clean high ISO images; certainly the D4 will deliver that but the price is too high for me.

I'm still puzzled why Nikon couldn't have just doubled the resolution to a more reasonable 24MP rather than triple it. Canon apparently is choosing to keep the Mk III at 21-22MP. Must be a good reason for that.

The choice of a 40mm (60mm in 35mm equivalent) lens is odd. Odd focal length for walking around. Not wide enough, not long enough.

Who cares about concepts. Either make the lens or move on.

No 24mm or 35mm equivalent prime? No 24-70mm equivalent zoom? This camera is DOA for me under the current roadmap.

G1X is DOA as far as I'm concerned. Same useless optical viewfinder as the current G series. Why didn't Canon develop a new viewfinder for this one?

I haven't read through all of the comments here so I apologize in advance if my comment has already been voiced: I find the focal lengths of the 18mm and 35mm lens to be odd given the actual field of view of 27mm and 53mm respectively. The "wide angle" lens is not all that wide and the "normal" lens is not ideal for street shooting. I would have liked to see a fixed 24mm and 35mm (at 35mm equivalent focal lengths). Why didn't Fuji offer a version of the 23mm on the X100? Ideally, a fast zoom of 24-70 f2.8 would be great.
