My D600 has a data corrupted sensor. Vertical bands top to bottom on right side of image. all images... Since photo #1 (i just oddly never noticed it before).
Camera is sent back for warrenty.
I spoke with the nikon dealer guy, and he told me that he thinks Nikon is officially acknoledging the D600 dust/oil issue as of today.. which surprises me, and can't find anything online about this. ....... (due to the shutter gap thing suspected earlier) .
I feel so angry after all they have put me through - for those who have followed my story in these forums. I feel walked on.. ignored.. walked on some more... mean while they have my $2000...
He tells me 4-6 weeks until i likely get my camera back too...
Guys DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE>
What a joke Nikon... are you listening now????
If your allergic to soot, don't get near it. I'll go ahead and like my own comment so Bamboojail won't go bananas!
nicolaiecostel: Now that nikon gave us a cheap FF camera with outstanding image quality in a compact body, all the trolls and brand bashers chime in to speculate on the single annoying issue that the camera has shown. Just like they did on the D800 with the left AF issue, which was quickly adressed and solved by nikon. Good luck wasting your time, nikon will definitely solve this one just like they solved all of the others.
Bamboojail,I'll thumb up my reply again to excite you......so pathic, sad.....blah blah blah. Hey, did the Nikon came with a blow drier or an eye patch, btw, how's your $2100 + LEMONADE?
Marike6,5D3's light leak has been addressed by Canon and provided a fix. It will also.......via firmware update add a clean HDMI out video for 5D3. Canon also addressed via firmware update of f8 AF support and viewfinder AF pts light up for 1DX. Did Nikon address the green cast in D4, the left AF of D800 and the oil&dust in D600.....they have to address it first before fixing it. Nikon is a LEMONADE store.
D600 needs a portable blow drier and a wit swab handy every 100 shots.By the 25th shot, you can't step down beyond f8 because the oil/dust will be prominent, unless you have a wit swab in handy. For a camera to score 87%, that is only usable in bright day light and a struggle in low light situation compared to D800 is crazy. While both has useless outer AF pts. in low light scenarios, D800 can acquire focus. But then again, D800 needs a solid tripod + ballhead with a wind velocity less than 3mph. You just can't win, pick your poison.
Hopefully, with god's grace, this little SLR will become the first Nikon to be trouble free(leaking oil, soft left eyeball AF, flimsy doors, green LCD, unconfident AF system....etc). Also, hopefully they figured out high ISO DR after implementing so many generation of various sensor designs in(D3200, D5200, D600, D800, D4) and from third vendors.......Come on Nikon, I'm cheering for you, you can finally BEAT Canon's ancient 10 years old sensory tech in 100% crop side by side comparison. Go Nikon, Go Nikon, Go Nikon.....you can do it!
D600 is 1000% PLASTICKY.......just stating facts.
Francis Carver: Wow, this Nikon V2 camera is so butt-ugly, it must have been designed in the German Democratic Republic in the mid-1960s, and then never placed in actual production because even then, it was decided that she was just too butt-ugly. The word "homely" does not begin to describe its sheer vast ugliness.
Yikes, after two plus weeks, this Nikon V2 is not growing in me, I tried and tried........this thing is so FUGLY!
Wow D600 has the same AF as the D5200!
At that price, someone is definitely smoking pot(marijuana) at Canon Inc. Just because you chopped of 35mm in FL and added a centre-pinch lens caps, it does not mean you can charge 35% more dough over the old version.
Another A99 like product, rocking solid on specs sheet, but will suck in real world use. That has been the Sony tradition for too long.
This is my third day looking at this latest release in hopes of purging my intial easthics impression. No change, it is such a fugly piece of plastic, sorry. Its getting uglier everyday I look at it.
Hey DPR staff, do you have a photo with the lense hood on it? Maybe the lense hood is built into the Nano coatings.
This is my second day looking at it, this is the ugliest camera ever made.
This is the ugliest camera ever made!
This glass is longer, heavier compared to EF counterpart, with so much more glass elements only to have a so-so mtf chart, this is not good. What.....the collar cost $$$, I knew it, that five step VR designation was a way to price gouge the consumers.
So yellow though, so so model.
Same old SLT technology, a Van Gogh machine needing a modern set of brushes at high ISOs. The AWB is extreme off too. Oh please, don't blame DPR staff, only if DPR gives gold for specs.
Nice oil painting!
