About me:

James A. Rinner was born in 1955 and has been active in photography since 1960. A former professional photographer, he has shot over 1200 weddings (mostly free-lanced) and won five international awards in wedding photography. Because of travel for work he stopped shooting weddings in 1993, but has never stopped shooting. He is on his 9th (14th if you count the 5 E-10s I used to teach photography to the Boys Scouts) digital camera (Olympus OM-D EM-5) and loves it!

Olympus OM-D, E-PL1, 5 E-10s, E-20N, 7-14 Panny, 25mm 1.4, 50mm macro, 12-50mm, 14-42, M14-150, 75-300mm, 4/3 adapted 85mm 1.7 MD Rokkor-X, Nikkor 50 f2 M39, Nikkor 35mm F2.8 M39, FL-36, FL-50, Sunpack Ring Flash, Olympus C-7070, Olympus XZ-1, Bogen 3025 and 3001, both with ball heads and Manfrotto Carbon fiber CX190 Pro.

On Readers' Choice: Best Gear of 2013 Awards news story (217 comments in total)

I find it amusing that the author states "the E-M1 just edged out its two closest competitors, garnering 32.8% of the vote" when it actually got 37.2% more votes than the K-3 and 39.3% more votes than the X100S. Basically for every 2 votes the K-3 or the X100S got, the E-M1 got 3.

I would call it more of a landslide!

mike kobal: Lunar's little sister just arrived ;)

In the old days Hasselblad and Leica brought us cameras that were head and shoulders above the competition. The Lunar and this X-Vario is boring and behind the times.

I have been a long time PS user but have always used Corel's Paint Shop Pro on the side for quick editing when I don't have one of registered PS computers with me. I have decided not to upgrade to Paintshop Pro X5 vut looks like I may go ahead and do that.

Bad move Adobe...

In reply to:

Shobeir: I want to buy a mirror-less camera and I am thinking of Nex6 or Olympus OM-D E-M5. I had nex 5R and I was not happy with the lack of viewfinder while the screen was not useful in sunny days. I know the Olympus OM-D E-M5 has great performance and quality but it is too bulky. Any idea?

EM-5 too bulky? Here is my EM-5 next to my E-5... http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/7269479990/photos/1948760/p5091454-1600
