tarakanchik: very nice!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Thank you for your comments, I am glad you liked the image. Thanks to all who liked it and voted for it. I commented on it being a composite (it is) earlier.
I thought it would be obvious from the exif that this is a composite, I am sorry I did not put it in the technical description. I di not because there were no restrictions but on second thought I wish I had.
I shot the lightning first during a thunderstorm in Ely Nevada on the way to Arches and then the Arch. When I saw the sun on the arch I knew that it would fit with the lightning.
Thank you, the lightning is coming from the dark, almost purple cloud. Glad you liked it!
miklmar: I can't find the Canon version on the website, only the Nikon. Trying to find out if the 550EX is compatible.

Well, maybe but the "ONE BUD" was qualified by "closer look". So I entered a picture with the focus on "ONE BUD" and two other buds that were not in focus. I was disqualified, no problem but I can count and there is no need to insult people.
Wow! I agree, the distribution off the votes shows some weird voting is going on.--Mike
Thanks Ben, I thought it might do a little better but you never know.
Great shot Ben, it was my favorite of the challenge.
I guess that is the main reason but did they not even know there are other uses for tilt shift lenses...
Glad you liked the picture, thanks
I don't think this is a winning picture but I can't understand why there would be six .5 votes. It was obviously taken with a tilt shift lens so it meets the requirements, unless I am missing something. If I am, I would like to know.
It was taken with a Canon TSE-24, a tilt shift lens (and it was tilted to focus specifically on the hand and the page where the the fingers are touching it. Also, someone gave it a 5.
I would have commented earlier but the comments have not been working.
Very nice, should have finished much better than it did imho. I don't know how people could give this a 1 or 1.5.--Mike
I liked it a lot, very nice shot.--Mike
This is a very good shot, I think I gave it a 4.0. I don't know how anyone could give it less than 2.5.
Very Nice, congrats!
Congratulations Bob, excellent work!
