  • OK.............your point is well taken.  However, not all of the people who post on this forum or other forums are pros (I certainly am not) and participate in photography for the enjoyment ...
  • Precision is an authorized Pentax repair facility.  On the Pentax forum there is a lot of discontent over their services.  I have not had any experience with Precision but just stating what is ...
  • Steeve - #2 is great but #4 shows one of the mating couple smiling and looking quite content.  There must be more to frog sex than what meets the eye! Right now I am camping just south of Alpena, ...
  • At 70 1/2 I pretty much split the difference between you and Barry.  I could buy the 150-450 and the 70-200.  Financially, it would not be a big issue.  Despite carefully watching my weight and ...
  • Very nice shots you took at the Lincoln Park Conservatory.  The weak AA filter on the K-01 produces very sharp images and in particular # 1.
  • Very nice image,  And, one of the many reasons why almost 4 years after I purchased it why I do not replace my K-5.
  • Nice shots!  I always try to visit the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL at least 2X per year when I am in the Chicago area on business.
  • Excellent shots.  Wish I could view at FS but I am just about out of available download capacity on my Jetpack and will have to wait until the evening of 5/22 when I return home from vacation.
  • Excellent! Beautiful horse and she is one Grand Lady. Thanks for sharing.
  • Very interesting shots.  Like the images of Mr. and Mrs. lizard the best but they are all really good.
  • Excellent and unusual shot.
  • Excellent post.  As a long time user (over 32 yrs) of Pentax cameras and 4 yrs with Sigma I can appreciate your comments.  I have been very pleased with the K-5 and K-01 (very underrated) and have ...
  • Impressive shots.  Bigger than Carpenter ants in the USA.  Pls. keep them in Australia. Thanks for posting.
  • Replied in Jim...
Thanks Ron.  Do not use filters that much anymore but the 77 mm filter thread on the DA*16-50mm is a plus since I have a polarizer and neutral density filter that size going back to my film days.
  • Yes, I was tongue-tied and could not remember the terminology "SDM".  Still issues in recent posts on the B&H site.  Need to look at PF to see if the posts there are directed at SDM issues.  Some ...
  • On B&H's website the reviews for this lens well documents the AF issues.  The Sigma 17-50 EX f/2.8 has a lot better reviews and is over $200 lower in price.  I have several Sigma lenses and am ...
  • Hmmm..................do not have the time to check this out but it would seem that puts the pricing pretty close to the DA 20-40mm and the new DA 16 - 85mm (hope those are the right specs).  But ...
  • My sentiments exactly.  I bought a K-5 in early 2012 and later in the year bought a K-01 when the prices dropped like a rock.  Liked the K-01 so much I bought another one for a spare. These ...
  • My exact sentiments.  I have no plans to replace my K-5.  Maybe in the future but it suffices for my requirements.  If I did BIF or sports photography I would probably use a K-3. Excellent images ...
  • For the most part, my K-5 has been accurate on focusing.  The exception would be the DA*55mm f/1.4.  Never really been able to get this lens to focus good on the K-5.  Outside of that I really ...
