ARB1: Does Pentax try to make butt ugly cameras?
Why, did they make the one you're holding in your profile pic? :-)
Shahidur Rahman: I love the white K-50!!
Storm Trooper is a classic.
I just assumed that these had been taken with an iphone. Mea culpa.
When people ask somebody like me to take shots a pro should be taking, yeah, I'd agree the pro is a dying breed.
I just checked it out, and I've decided to go with the free account, downgrading from my pro one. I'm not a pro, and anyway, there are so many ads on the web I've just naturally started to filter them out with my eyes.
I appreciate the longer video times available on the free account, and if I ever run out of space, I'll just open another account.
Regarding the look of the new one, it's muuuuch better than the old flickr. All that white was a bit distracting.
AstroStan: Well deserved. All things considered, the RX1 is the best camera I ever owned or used.
Though as with all version 1 implementations there are a few bugs; most especially the panorama sweep is awful and unusable (surprising since the NEX panorama is nearly flawless).
Most of the derisive comments in this forum are incorrect or poorly thought out. Complaints that there is no built in EVF fail to consider exactly where it could be located without bulking up the body or shrinking the display screen. The howling over the reasonable price is empty noise; try to assemble a Nikon/Canon DSLR of equivalent quality (lens and sensor) without exceeding that price, then measure and weigh that alternative.
Right. Has nothing to do with the ff sensor and custom built lens. No relation at all. They could have sold it for the same price as the fujix100s, but they're just too goofy to realize it.

Thanks for the article. Very one-stop informative.
jakeman: I don't really understand how someone could buy a $1000 camera with no viewfinder in 2013
M Jesper, thank you. Exactly my point. And in far fewer words.
Everlast66: Sorry Olympus, we have enthusiasts here, but in this financial climate are kind-of short on $1k enthusiasts!
Look at the nice prime kit lens you can get for the Pen. Just curious, how fast is that zoom of yours?

I'm saying that the 17mm f1.8 is faster than the zoom of either Fuji or Sony. I'm also saying that many people like Oly colors, which may encourage them to prefer this cam. Again, style, same thing. It's personal.
Basically, writing off a camera like this when it has so much to offer shows how little thought went into the post. Besides style and colors (and other personal preference aspects like feel) you can't seriously debate the richness of the micro 4/3 system, and more specifically, the great design of this camera. Does Fuji have touch AF, or the small size of this cam? Does Sony have the lenses to compete with micro 4/3?
The poster I responded to says basically, "why choose a red car, when you can have a blue or yellow one?"
Pffft! Each camera has it's strong points, and aspects that affect personal preferences. You have to be crazy not to see this.
I say this as a Pentax DSLR shooter.

Focus speed, shutter speed, body size, lens lineup, style, Oly JPEG colors, grip feel, touch focus, kit lens, wifi, personal preferences...
I keep having to edit, because I keep finding more things it has over those other 2 cameras. :-)
citrontokyo: She posts his photo even though she knows there are days when he doesn't want to be photographed? (Last photo)
Hmm. Are we supposed to admire her for this? I mean, technically she is getting her own publicity by using this man. The least she could do is obey his wishes.
Allllrighty then.

The only way to make this interesting is to say that people must vote for a camera that they don't have (preferably a different maker, too). Otherwise, it's just another boring popularity contest.
I shoot Pentax, but vote for the Sony Rx1. It's true camera porn for me.
I'm beginning to think these extended previews are just so that the kids at DPReview have more time to play with the toys...hmmm. Envious I am.
Aahh, the internet. Manners and selective, conscientious use of language right out the window. Might I remind the readers that they can read the reviews for free? No, perhaps that would just be a waste of my time.
It's an interesting piece, but I now understand once and for all why women's backs are more pleasing aesthetically.
bebopberg: Well I guess you're in no rush to post the Samsung NX20 samples. Priorities, priorities...
zing!
Nice camera. Nice sensor. If the lenses catch up, it'll be tough to beat. The EVF and tri-navi are a huge deal on such a small camera. At least it is for dslr users like myself, who prefer to take photos that way.
On another note, it looks safe to say that the sensor, if adopted in the next version of the Pentax K-5, will make that camera pretty kick-a$$ too.
Good luck to them. The market needs the competition.
