If it's sharp, focuses reasonably fast, and is cheaper than the Sigma, count me in.
I think most of us take photos of people (or cats, lol). How about some skin tones?
TimT999: I love the fact that so many people have such strong, antagonistic opinions on a subject based on a few paragraphs -- on a tech site that hasn't even used the device.
I see the same simplistic comments when I go to sites devoted to political issues. Thoughtful, considered judgements have become a rarity. And the fact that people get so angry about a phone seems particularly bizarre. Oh well.
I'm just angry that it doesn't have a real flash, a new sensor, and ability to control shutter speed. Basically no camera upgrade as far as I'm concerned.
Any camera can look good in direct sunlight. Let's see some pictures of moving children indoors with this thing. BLUR CITY. No real flash, no control over shutter speed. The big news here is 4G and a half inch bigger screen. Everything else is pretty minor. Yup, I can wait a year to see what the next one will be.
So, the camera relies on noise reduction for better low light performance, not an improved sensor? Bah, glad I put my money on an RX100 instead of waiting for Apple to put a decent camera in their phones.
Also, has their been any talk of a "real" flash like some phones have or is it still the same LED that lights up for a whole second and can't freeze action? I'm going to try and hold out for the 5s, I think.
Anfernee Cheang: Come on DPR, you scared everybody!
The ISO is 100-25600 in still mode, with 100-6400 in Auto.
And it's 100-6400 in movie mode, with 100-3200 in Auto.
I was shocked when seeing the spec table, sigh......
BTW, all above numbers are from Sony Store.
That shocked me when I saw it. DPR better fix before there's an uproar.
