Go with a refurbed lens and either a refurbed D90 or D7000. I've had all 3 and the D90 & D7000 are much better. Also the D80 is the only camera I every had a problem with = $250 shutter repair...

I have a little HD Sony camcorder for video and have never bothered with video on any DSLR.

How about a factory D7000 refurb from adorama? $750. Mine had only 350 clicks on it.
I'll do the same for a D7100 in a year or two.

I can never seem to get plug ins to work so I bought the Pro version. Maybe try a trial product and see.

I only use the Hoya Pro 1 Digital line. For bright sunny days use the circular polarizer:

Nikon D7100 (I prefer DX over FX), Nikon 16-85mm & Nikon 70-300mm lenses along with a Nikon SB900 or SB910 flash.
Also get the Nikon MB-D15 Multi Power Battery Pack / vertical grip.

Trust me I've tried a lot of software including PSP. Shoot raw and use Lr, its worth it!

Obviously the latest is the greatest even if only in a little way.
That being said I recently did what I always do. I sold my D90 and picked up a factory refurb with only 350 clicks on it from...

You may want to consider purchasing from a top rated seller on ebay. I buy all sorts of stuff on a regular basis from top rated sellers and never a problem with anything. They work hard to keep...

I think the opposite. I used to shoot weddings with medium format. One time I tried shooting the reception photos in 35mm (400 ISO film) and could not stand the quality, the 2 1/4 was soooo much...

After trying many I'd have to say hands down Lightroom is the best. Intuitive work space. You work in modules from left to right and top to bottom. No clicking through menus to access edit...

I guess at $500/copy then upgrade every year or two Adobe wasn't making enough and had to go the cloud route.
I will be looking for replacements for Lr and Ps.

I am very happy with my Nikon 17-55mm f2.8 and the Nikon 16-85mm (smaller/lighter/cheaper but great IQ). If out walking about all day and don't need f2.8 its the 16-85mm.

I agree. Just because they make a great camera a little better, it doesn't make the original bad. The slight improvements are not worth throwing money at so I'm staying happy and keeping my X100...

I like mine. Made for DX, nice & light:

It depends on ISO, keep it down and you can go big unless you like to enlarge noise.
