When I saw the image, I'm immediately about to comment that finally a Merrill camera that has the IQ or presence of previous Foveons then the mouse cursor accidentally hovered the image and showed...

I went to his website and I thought plenty of the photographs have good image quality which I thought couldn't possible with a polaroid or even a digital camera.
-
DPR might have been looking at the pixel level, while the others at a reduced size comparison.
-
Same sentiments. I miss using ISO 50, which has even more pop.

Agreed. Sigma owners know this and if I'm going to consider the Ricoh or Nikon, I should be able to compare them in RAW. Besides, the SD1M comparison image is present, somewhere. It's not very...
-
It's because a Sigma can't do JPEGs. DPR should have included the DP1M's RAW even if they have to reduce it's sharpness setting to -2.0 in Sigma Photo Pro.

nice debates since the announcement of this lens. yet, if i had this lens, I'd probably use it less than other lens out there. it's truly a beast in size and weight, only perfect for indoor,...

not possible in 2008? there was..... http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sigmadp1

Unbelievable, with very practical focal lengths. I wonder why Canikon, doesn't have something similar. Is it due to size? This one is really huge yet if you're shooting indoors, this is the beast...

EVFs are going to have a story similar to the megapixel race.
-
I would rather save money and put up with the size of a Canon G1X.

I think I've found the answer to as why there is little difference outside having a huge MP count. It is due to manufacturers slightly weakening the filter throughout the years. Besides, a high...

People buying in this focal length has another camera(s) in their possession. Pretty expensive to add to what we already have. Speaking of sensor, it is a sensor from the D7000 which is still good...

I'm not teaching you on IQ, I'm just saying if you don't appreciate the difference in IQ then it's overkill for you but not the "most people" that you say, though it is valid if you refer "most...

The only overkill here is the price. I doubt if you can enumerate half of the non-dslrs than has an apsc sensor. Sigma has been selling of this type since the DP1. If you don't see the...

lol. they weren't like that before.

@gurmusic then get the 4.7MP previous Foveon sensor cameras before they get too worn and torn for your use. I love my Sigma DP2 for its sensor. Everything else about it sucks but I put up with it...

Thanks. Luckily, I brought a camera today with me and the first image I took is a good example and shows what I thought of ETTL. I have a Sigma Camera, though I can process the RAW file in...
-
That is not the correct way to ETTL. You would only use ETTL when the dynamic range of a scene does not exceed the camera, that is when the highlights don't go outside the edges of the histogram....
