I think you need to narrow the focal length first. I'd probably go with a 35 (or a 28) for land and city scapes. If you're more into people then go with a 50. Right now I'd go for the Sigma 35/1.4...

As both a professional web designer and advanced amateur (or whatever you want to call it) photographer, I'm going to have shell out for even more than most of you guys. I'm actually attending the...

It's not just about noise but dynamic range as well.

I've had a 7D for over 3 years and it's been a great camera. But the sensor is noisy, even at the lowest isos. I've had various focus issues with it as well (mostly just a lot of inconsistency),...

Just to follow on what you're saying - I've had my x100 at the beach many times, hiked with it, just thrown it in my bag, and generally dragged it everywhere, mostly without a case, and the thing...

It depends on what you're trying to shoot. For smaller birds, I'd say 400mm is the very shortest I'd go on FF, depending upon your expectations. If you're after larger animals, depending upon the...

It looks like a nice camera. I have an x100 with the wide angle adapter, so I don't need this focal length. I'm still waiting for a 50mm equiv fixed lens camera. 28 and 35 are a little wide for me.

Sadly that is the case. I wish I could just mount a biogon to my forehead!

The expectations of a perfect camera are made by people who were raised on p&s's and perhaps don't know any better. When it comes to cameras like rangefinders or the fujis, they require a different...

I agree with this, at least in regard to the X100. Now that I think about it, I pretty my use either average or spot across all my cameras. Here in southern california there can often be too much...

I love this shot - so much depth and you're just pulled from the foreground all the way to the back. While I guess you could pull up the shadows in the front, it doesn't bother me much and they...

While I can't help you, you might want to check in over at http://www.rangefinderforum.com
Lots of great knowledge over there.

I received the lens yesterday. It is very nice. Looks a little ridiculously small on my 7D, but in my limited use so far it seems great for the money. I mostly bought it for when I eventually go FF...

Really looks like a decent lens, especially for the money and the size. So I finally just gave in and bought one! Should be here in a few days.

That's the issue I think, different exposure. WHen I set to manual (and I've only messed with panos a few times), I don't get banding.
-
Yeah, they don't look too bad actually. Better than an my 7D I'd say at the higher ISOs.

I'm personally holding out for the next XPro as long as some of the x100s features are rolled into it. I don't need a new body now so I can wait it out...

Wow, some seriously amazing shots in both batches. Thanks for sharing and it really makes me want to go to India. Sadly, recent events have put my wife off on it.

Just saw these, thanks for posting. The lens seems to draw very nicely with the 6d. I do my taxes this week, so I'll know what I can afford in a few days...
