If you're doing indoor work, you'll appreciate the IS on the 17-55. It works very well. Also, will you miss the longer end of the 17-55? If I had the 16-35 I feel like I'd be hampered on the long...

I was borrowing a friend's 5D2 to test out and used my usual 300f4IS/1.4TC combo. Much nicer than my 7D, the noise is simply so much cleaner and prettier, although the AF is obviously slower. In...

You should really try one out before you buy. I've tried the MF on XE1 and XP1 and didn't really care for it. I'm holding out till the next version and then I'll try again when some of the x100S...

14mm is significantly wider than 24mm, not really in the same ball park.

I bought the non-IS version first because of cost, but after a few days I returned it and got the IS version with zero regrets. It's a beautiful lens. I just found that handheld at 200mm I was...

You should look at the Fuji 35/1.4. It gets great reviews and I think the lens renders in the same vein as some of the Leica lenses. And it has autofocus, if that matters to you.

That's where it gets interesting. We can keep CS6, but when we buy a new camera 3 years from now, you won't be able to process the raws from it.

Yeah, it definitely feels cinematic. Also reminds of the work of Philip Lorca Di Corcia, whose photos are usually staged but look very natural.

Nice work. Can I ask what lens you used?

The editable rounded rectangles thing isn't a big deal for photographers but for designers it's huge.

The problem is being forced to continuously upgrade forever. I'm still using CS5 with no problems. I'll be upgraded to CS6, but to be honest I don't really "need" a lot of the new features. Instead...

I think you need to narrow the focal length first. I'd probably go with a 35 (or a 28) for land and city scapes. If you're more into people then go with a 50. Right now I'd go for the Sigma 35/1.4...

As both a professional web designer and advanced amateur (or whatever you want to call it) photographer, I'm going to have shell out for even more than most of you guys. I'm actually attending the...

It's not just about noise but dynamic range as well.

I've had a 7D for over 3 years and it's been a great camera. But the sensor is noisy, even at the lowest isos. I've had various focus issues with it as well (mostly just a lot of inconsistency),...

Just to follow on what you're saying - I've had my x100 at the beach many times, hiked with it, just thrown it in my bag, and generally dragged it everywhere, mostly without a case, and the thing...

It depends on what you're trying to shoot. For smaller birds, I'd say 400mm is the very shortest I'd go on FF, depending upon your expectations. If you're after larger animals, depending upon the...

It looks like a nice camera. I have an x100 with the wide angle adapter, so I don't need this focal length. I'm still waiting for a 50mm equiv fixed lens camera. 28 and 35 are a little wide for me.

Sadly that is the case. I wish I could just mount a biogon to my forehead!
