Beautiful rose tones, Greg - I like the hint of white flowers (baby's breath?) to one side too.
-
Like all 3. But - I'm curious about the pink pansy in the yellow sea - was it a gardener's mistake?
-
Agree with Mario - an excellent moth framed by the flower!
-
Nice orchids. I don't think I've ever seen the type in the 3rd pic before.

A nice set. Those passion flowers are fascinating, and quite a contrast to the mostly white one posted by Gopal42986 and also to another one posted in the previous flower thread. Yours are more...

A nice set Coll, and I agree with the others - that second one especially is different and well chosen.

Brilliant sequence - makes me glad we have a cat that's too old for those tricks!
-
Somewhat in the same vein as Mario's, but taken with e-520 and 35mm a few years ago - a forget-me-not and a strawberry (strawflower?), and a freesia.
-
Agree - apart from artistic merit, macros and close-ups often give new insights into the complexity and variety of flowers. Those are 3 excellent shots.

That's a very well camouflaged spider as well - nice one!

That second one is just an ordinary great image, but the first one is really special. QE2 holding onto her hat in a stiff wind, or a marching girl taking the salute, or... whatever, I enjoyed it.
-
Never seen that one before - and yes I agree with the others, it's an excellent pic as well as an interesting pick.

Rats! I thought we were going to see a really amazing pair of flowers.
Now I wonder whether that white bloom was sick all along. If you look closely at your original image you can see that the...

Umm, I'm no expert but I'll do my best with help from Wikipedia. Your original label is not invalid, but the termĀ "pansy" is normally used for those multi-coloured, large-flowered cultivars which...

Rich,
Did you get a chance to take another of this pair when they were both open? I did with mine - see result below.

I went back to the Secret garden today to check on my mixed "hybrid", and I was wrong about that bud!
Rather, the rose was trying to match a "Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow" flower, with a pink-red bud,...

Bright bright colours, nice. Although they're members of the violet family, I usually call them pansies.

That is a remarkable pair, Rich. I've never seen any roses like it that I can recall, except possibly a couple of days ago (see next reply to your original post.)

I thought I had done enough on this thread, but Rich's remarkable hybrid rose prompted me to post this one I took two days ago. At the time I was attracted by unusual colour of the rose, and so I...
