Interesting that a very different algorithm yields very similar results, then.

It looks very, very, very similar to the most recent dcraw's handling of x-trans raws. Given that dcraw's source is public domain (no copyleft), it makes sense for Photo Ninja to use this new...

It is not a guess. If you [nearly] perfectly characterize the transfer [point spread] function of a lens as these folks have done, deconvolution can be nearly lossless. The only loss is info off...

They may have reworked some of the mechanisms to provide for parfocal zooming. That would certainly account for an increased price.
-
The reason you can't easily see them in the sky is because they clip, thus making them less brighter (that SHOULD make sense) than they should be.
-
Another thing of interest: the IQ180 has pretty bad aliasing on the woodblock print in the upper-left, and surprisingly Amaze actually makes it worse. Hmm...
-
The color resolution chart is very revealing. The X-Trans sensor really kills the color saturation in regions of high detail. The smaller blue/red target is rather dramatic. So do the...

Since when are linear polarizers more effective than circular polarizers? They both do the same thing to incoming light, except the CPL's also do stuff to light going out.
-
Umm, the 5d3 does Full HD RAW with no artifacts. You may be thinking of the other cameras which have tons of aliasing and lower write speeds.
-
I don't mean the pixel-width halos, I mean big honkin' ones that are 5-10 pixels wide on this scale.
-
I'm not sure I like the particular tonemapping algorithm used, especially on the first photo. There are halos visible. Striking captures, yes, but I think the post processing needs a little more...

There is no polarizer. It merely twists the polarization of the light.

Perhaps it wasn't the camera, but instead the ecosystem that killed the Contax brand. I'm sure there would be more interest now than there used to be, now that advanced users are demanding more...

They just need to make a nice DSLR with real ergonomics. Fuji's X-series is nice, but I really crave the look of a big, bright, MF viewfinder (fully silvered mirror0 with a true matte, along with...

I want a 5D3, but I still love my 60D. My opinion is that they crippled the 5D3 and 6D by leaving off the swivel screen.
-
Personally, I like the decisive slap sound of the 60d, though it is louder than cameras like the D7000. Better than the shutter-winding noise of Rebels, though.

The shell is one thing, but the internals will likely have to stay similar to what they are currently because of the need for stiffness and precision tolerances.
