IMHO Pentax is gaining excitement in their products from younger people that will possibly stay brand loyal over the next couple decades. It's less about pixel peeping and more about fun. Smart move, since this market will probably buy more cameras (and adapt to their changes) than the current market.
A lot of us have been wondering what the roadmap looks like with the 1 system. Now that it's clearer, I can't imagine anything remotely as hideous as the V2. I've been a big Nikon fan, but I have no regrets looking at that road in my rear view mirror.
Suddenly, the Pentax K-01 looks attractive.
Phew, nothing really stands out as worthy of an upgrade. I'm glad it doesn't have a zoom (don't need) and a new sensor (honestly, I don't care).
I understand why some people don't like this camera. But I can't seem to understand why they get so upset about a camera they would never buy.
