RichRMA: Maybe Fuji can do something about that annoying blank area above the lens?

What are you talking about? Where the flash is?

There's just a couple of things in video they need.
It can be done via a FW update and make the xe-2 and xt-1 overall better multipurpose cameras and appeal to a wider audience.
1. 24p,25p,50p. This is the biggest one. Easy fix
2. Allow manual.
3. Better codecs. Meaning more then one.

Done.

Shunda77: The high ISO performance of this camera is truly impressive, Fuji are now a very serious player in the APS-C market.

Been like this since the X pro 1

Rod McD: Thanks for this - I'm still waiting to see an XT1 in the hand in Australia......

I suspect you're making a bit much of the issue of the locking button on the ISO dial. I change ISO when the light intensity changes (eg going form indoors to outside and vice versa) or if I make a lens change to a very different FL (eg to bump up shutter speed for a telephoto). It's just not that hard, and I doubt that it's so important from shot to shot when the camera is actually up to your eye. How long does it take - one second, perhaps two? Anyone who so desperately needs that second to grab a shot should have set their camera to an appropriate ISO far earlier. Anything's better than accidental changes.

And as for the inconvenience of gloves... Show me one camera that excels with gloves on. There aren't any. They're all woeful. It's just part of the digital age that they require dexterity to use all functions. This is hardly a fault unique to this camera.

It has 3.

This really does look like a great phone. All of the latest and greatest.

Gotta wonder if the screen is IPS or not though.

vscd: I like Fuji, but too many updates are no sign of productivity, but more a sign of banana-software, riping at the customer.

I do think they need to think about of some of the stuff before they release cameras.

They did Velvia pretty dang well. Everything else is off. Astia being the most off.

Wow...the 18-135 is 3.5-4.8! I thought it was 3.5-5.6. Cool stuff. I bet that is going to be one of the fastest focusing lenses out for fuji.

HomoSapiensWannaBe: Will be interesting to compare with the Sony RX-10.

I just looked on camera size.com and compared. The rx10 is considerably larger vs the mk2.

That would be a REALLY hard choice. It would kinda be up to if you wanted to shoot video or not.
Also the rx10 have really fast AF. Unknown on this camera.

Direct link | Posted on Feb 13, 2014 at 05:44 UTC

I think the Fuji XQ1 beats this out. 1/2 stop faster on the long end, a larger sensor and faster focusing same size for only $50 more.

Then again the panasonic gm1 makes both cameras obsolete.

stern: travel companion? why would i choose an ILC for travel? My travel camera is the pentax mx-1. compact, rugged plus incredible IQ. IMHO IQ of the mx-1 is on par or better than the Sony RX, which is probably due to the mx's better lens (sharp!). travel = compact.

The mx1 is a xz2, just not as good. Same lens....

nerd2: I like fuji system a lot, without their price tag. Why should them so expensive compared to sony, samsung or panasonic offerings?

Panasonic 42.5mm 1.2 @$1600 vs fuji 56mm 1.2 1000.

Seems like there prices are fine.
