No word on the new FE Zeiss batis lenses just announced???? 25 and 85mm
They are beautiful!!!!
Battersea: I hope Canon starts shopping there.
Canon might not have the best. But there higher ISO color fidelity is very very good
stevo23: Once again, Fuji and the lenses. This looks like a well thought out one.
If canikon do make a lens like this...apsc lens...please put a link up. If not...just hold on to your 3.2lbs Or 1.54kg (canon)of ff dslr with 24mm 1.4 ll and rock back and forth.
Stevo23 let me know when canon and nikon make a 15/16mm prime lenses. This lens is an apsc lens. A 24mm 1.4 lens for full frame is not only going to cost more. But it'll be 35/36mm lens on canons and nikon apsc bodies. Once again....Noone has an equivalent apsc lens. Noooooonnneeeeee.People keep bringing up the 24mm but they arent in the same range as this. No full frame mirror less camera has an 24mm f2 lens either!!
So you either pick a full frame dslr( all lenses are more expensive annnnnd the cameras cost more)(since you can by a 329 xa1(that legitimately has the best low light performance of an apsc camera)....or a you pic this lens for fuji!
OBI656: Fuji creates pretty good quality cams and lenses but they do not have sensor (film) ... Unfortunately. 36 mp and up is for Fiji just Science Fiction ...
16MP is plenty for a bill board. You do know pro's use the nikon D4 (16mp) and canon 1dx (18mp) and used the images for bill boards right???
OBI656 You are a very misinformed person....
I think fuji is the only company that has made an apsc 16mm 1.4. No other company make this. Not canon or nikon. An f2 or 2.8 are not in the same league.
I've been waiting for this lens for astrophotography. 1 and 2 stops is a big deal! ISO 3200 VS 6400 AND 12800. When fuji brings this lens below 900 ill buy it.
I've been waiting for this lens for astrophotography!
Nikon actually offers a specially boxed film makers kit now.http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0060MVJ1Q/ref=s9_simh_gw_d0_g421_i8?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=mobile-2&pf_rd_r=0WX0F1KTGFGAM6GAFRAE&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2072522802&pf_rd_i=mobile#
tmaxxtigger: Have a Spyder 1 & 3. I wonder if these incremental improvements make that much of a difference, the old version seems to work really well already. Moving from the 1 to 3 was a fair jump, mostly in that the calibration took a lot less time.
I also use spyder 3. Wonder if it's worth getting this.
Prairie Pal: How hard can it be to design an endoscope? It's basically a GoPro attached to a rubber hose.
Lmfao! Well the image quality would atleast be good!! Endoscopes really really sick when is comes to resolution! Not even 480p!
I would imagine a f3.5/4-5.6 lens.
Lars Rehm: Seriously, the next person to ask for the CM1 or Note 4 will be banned for life :)
Step on to soap box and scratches butt....what about the S6? it's likely to be better vs the note 4....
No Note 4?????? It has beaten the iPhone 6+ camera in blind comparisons. Has 4k and OIS. Pretty much one of the best camera smart phones out.
D1N0: With aps-c moving to 24mp and even 28, 16 is just not going to cut it anymore. Eventually m43 will be a niche for street photographers who don't crop.
BTW I know 8 amateur and pro photographers and the ones that shoot canon all still have a 5dmk1 or and a 1dmk2s along with thier 5dmk3/1dmk4. The ones that shoot Nikon have a D700 along side thier d810. They must all be screwed!!
Are you serious? So when they come out with "organic sensors" and there "only " 10mp or 8mp. but they per pixel quality and DR is far superior vs cmos... what will the world do??? How will anyone ever print??? What will the world do?? Why God why!! We will all have to stop printing and cropping. Because people need above 16mp....I bet only 15% of people actually print on dpreview. If that!
Astrotripper: "We also want to add some more reasonably-priced lenses for entry-level users, similar to the 45mm F1.8 - we’re looking into this now. "
Yeah, that'd be nice, but I wonder if it's not too late for that. MFT has already earned a reputation for being on the expensive side, at least in some regions. Excluding body caps, 45/1.8 and 17/2.8 are the only affordable primes here. From zoom lenses, 40-150 is the only good value proposition. All other lenses are either expensive (some rightly so) or just ridiculously overpriced.
And there's still no middle ground zoom in MFT. You either stay with the kit lens, or have to pay serious money for large and heavy f/2.8 PRO zoom. I still can't understand why we don't have a f/2.8-4.0 zoom.
I completely agree a 24-120 2.8-4/ f4-4 is very much so needed. As are a line of good optical f2-4 primes. 12 f4, 17 f2.8 mk2, 50 f4 macro, 75 2.8
RichRMA: Great sensor, lousy camera. No EVF, no sale these days, might as well use a crummy iPhone.
Really? You think the iPhone has anything on this camera? Saying that is just stupid. The iPhone has no zoom and even with the actually very good 16-50 kit would destroy an iPhone. In every way.
Digitalis32: I'm surprised about the inclusion of a Li-ion battery - most flash units use alternative battery types that aren't so inclined to have issues with heat. Though I wouldn't be surprised when someone uses this at 7FPS and complains that the battery melted.
It's recycle time isn't that fast....
fastlass: Would love to see a comparison vs iPhone/S5(6).
This would kill the IPhone 6 or 6 plus. Crop the iPhone to 600 mm and see how it looks. Also the iPhone doesn't shoot raw.
This is likely the best cheap low light camera you can buy (if the AF is up to the task.). Usable at every iso if the Xa-1 is anything to go by.
Wish they would release an and xe model with a Bayer sensor and pdaf.
