Tap0: Priced way too high. Nikon seems to be following Canon when it comes to pricing nowadays.

Yea $700 would be MUCH more realistic. This lens needs to be very very very very very very sharp, corner to corner sharpness wide open to sell for $900. Thats still a stretch.

Though it is a 1.2 lens....I dont know.

Citrontokyo, are you saying the oly kit lens(17mm or 14-42) are better vs the the fuji 18-55(neither are not)? Also are you implying that oly color is better vs fuji color(impossible to say, i enjoy both)? Also, i believe I like the style of the xe-1 vs the ep-5 any day.

NevilN: The $1449 package includes the new VF-4 EVF.

Yep....a free VF4 if you add up the cost of the 17mm with the camera.
Decent deal

snowboarder: So is it really gonna work for micro 4/3? More and more compact
cameras will show up with full frame and they are stuck with
a small sensor...

WHEN it happens, then oly will have to figure out something, right now they are just going along with business as usual.
Im patiently wating for someone someday to release a full frame mirrorless with some high quality 24 F2,35 F2,50 F2,85 F2. Done and done.

im curious as well

So its a XZ-2 in a pentax body. Im not seeing the big deal here. Oly licensed there lens design to Pentax. I would pay the exra 50 bucks and get the XZ-2 most likely.

Well thats sad, in the phone industry, HTC has made the first with EVERYTHING.
First 1ghz
First dual core
First 4inch
First 4.3
First 5 inch
First quad core
First 720p screen
First 1080p screen
Plus HTC really puts out some nice products. They are usually lacking something...SD card, or battery or something.
But they always keep things fresh.
They are the driving force of the industry believe it or not.

phoozy: Impressive high iso pictures.

The 18mp sensor is by no means bad. It just hasnt really improved though the years. I had the 7D and i loved the output. They just dont seem to be going anywhere with it in regards to DR or anything. Its just the same ol same ol.

kimchiflower: Good grief! That's a disproportionately large chunk of glass on that camera.

some mirrorless lenses just cannot be smaller. considering the faster aperture of this lens i dont think it looks bad at all. I'd take this over sonys 55-210 anyday of the week!

I bet the IQ on this is going to be great(if the 18-55 shows us anything)!

photogeek: Still no GPU acceleration. Epic fail.

but it would still help. But you would have to have a pretty old pc/laptop to have problems handling lightroom, or one that you just really need to clean up.
Also, if you at all are insterested in photo editing , you would need a pc with a dedicated GPU, or the intel 4000, the 3000 is sucky. But i have a 4 year old laptop that breezes through lightroom 4.

Isit13: Too bad it is not a constant F4, that way the price would have been more in the affordable amateur territory, and smaller size.

That 100-300 f4 is a Great lens!
