Common Samsung..... make a move. You need to release the first FF mirrorless like you did with the aps-c

SirSeth: I've read the article several times now and I'm still shaking my head as to what this is really about. It's Android. Linux based. An OS owned by Google. Why is Microsoft intellectual property licencing involved? Do they own the idea of an OS or something. The Redmond blurb seems to indicate that this mutually beneficial partnership is about making more services available, but the DPR copy makes it sound like Microsoft is suing all these companies pants off for stealing intellectual property. (Ok, maybe a little hyperbole there).

Google makes 100's of millions as well as microsoft. Google makes its bulk from google being google.

Microsoft has some patents(motorola had more and now google has all of them). Soon them patents will be determined to broad/or become invalid, and then they wont make anything.

I think the 7D was a good answer back to the D300s. I thought it was a very very good camera when i was shooting with it. Never had a problem with it.

Costing more then the LX7 is a non starter(LX7 is $299). I dont see the point.

I would take the LX7 over this anyday, unless it really is that significantly smaller.
The sensor on the LX7 is a 1/2.0 vs 1/2.3, so not much a difference. but the lens is much faster.

SemperAugustus: the Surface Pro received a 1 out of 10 score on iFixit's repairability scale — the worst any tablet has ever received

That doesnt mark bad against the tablet itself, just that they dont want it to be taken apart...

JAFO, this tab is a different beast compared to them...

Yea.....people were pretty disappointed with the iphone 5. Its an update. Not exactly an upgrade though. More evolutionary vs revolutionary. All they added was a longer screen and lte. thats about it. its a great phone.

The 5s will be in the same boat(same size and form), Or else they are going to anger ALOT of manufactures(cases and accessories)/developers(their app store, the only thing keeping them alive right now).

Nothing is keeping them from releasing a 6. just dont see it happening. Apples like canon now.

Deadcode: I have tried it, separated focus/AE is working, but video tweaks are not. It records 1920x1080, 30fps whatever you change. iPhone 5, iOS 6.1. Can anyone record more than 30fps video with iPhone 5?

Probably not, but you can up the bit rate for higher quality.

seeblue: As uptight as DPR has been over the years about other's use of THEIR "proprietary content", it's pretty amazing you're now promoting jailbreaking. Shame, shame.

No shame in anything. I unlock the bootloader on every android phone i have had to date. Just dont get motorola.....

Uping the bit rate is a major thing you can to to improve video.
Also if anyone can figure it out....DNG/Tiff vs jpeg....

davidbindle: So if the adapter was used on a traditional slr APS sized sensor - would the AF performance improve?
I have both a 5DMKII and a 60D. At times, I only want to bring one camera and that could often be the 60D especially if I want more reach from my 70-200 2.8. But if I could get 25.6mm at the wide end of my 24-70 2.8 (and at f2.0) that would be pretty cool!

I wonder if they even could make a pure Canon FF to Canon APS adapter. Perhaps this is an impossibility because they can only work with mirrorless cameras??

Just wondering

just mirrorless, the have to have room for the optics.

That 40mm is the perfect type lens on that adapter(due to the lens being small). its even a good FL.

I would prefer the F mount personally. alot of newer cheap lenses. (IE 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8 ect)
Most canon lenses are older then 2006.

I wish the AF would be slow....but acceptable vs slow and you can manually focus faster.

EYap: Personally I'd rather the manufacturers worked on a fast f/2 or f/2.8 lens speed and a zoom range of 20-200mm, or 24-200mm. If they can't do what Panasonic did with their FZ200 I wouldn't mind a variable speed of f/2.8-3.5.

F/3.0-5.9 is not an attractive option, considering many of these small cameras stop at f/8 on the other end. So what, just two stops on the tele end?

Like....panasonic?

200 shots per charge is a fail no matter how inexpensive the batteries are.
