Now if they made an app and adapter to make your smart phone do the same thing, that would be cool. That what i thought it was when i seen it on the main page. (iphone)
Try it with a tripod, see how it work with that?
I did that with the photosphere for android and actually came out with some pretty dang good results.
I know that using a tripod isnt going to be anyones thing, BUT, you should try everything you can to get the best IQ and merging possible before posting a review(IMO of coarse). :)
Atleast then it would take any user error out of it.
If you did, then that apps is not....so good.
As of right now, OIS has the advantage of only releasing one phone a year. All apps are optimized.
For video, I think android has the upper hand. Being open source, you can drive in the OS and up the bit rate and in some cases the FPS.
Who knows, both are becoming good platforms. Within the next year android will pass up OIS in apps. Just too many phones and too many people.
BingoCharlie: Surely this is the first in a line. 28mm now. 35mm and 50mm to follow, similar to the Sigma DPMs?
That would make me happy! i want a 50mm walk around!
??? Why? A 28mm 2.8 lens?
Why cant some one release one of these with a 32-35mm(50mm) F1.8/2 lens. I just want one with a 50mm equiv!!!!!!!!!!
Well lets see if they have can beat the D800. It would be nice to see MF above FF again. If not then whats the point.
I hope the MF makers have stepped up their game! I would hate to see MF ghost.
Jonathan F/2: My take...Sony was actually infringing on Aptina's patent portfolio, but since Aptina's a smaller company and any legal wrangling would be financially draining against Sony, it was just easier to make a cross-license agreement.
If it was the other way around, I'm sure Sony would sue Aptina into oblivion!
Sony would crush aptina in just the lawsuit nd they would never recover.
Ubilam: Facebook sucks and always will. I'll never play there. I use a cell phone only for emergencies.
Ubilam, that would mean smart phones arent for you, and you commenting here was worthless.
Glenn72: Still waiting for a Windows phone version.
You picked up a windows phone to early.
If they would have done what blackberry did for there version 10 im sure they would have it(giving $500 to each developer).
stevens37y: I've never bought anything from ms from apple from nikon. Will go on.
Im sure you have, just didnt realize it.
Combatmedic870: Common Samsung..... make a move. You need to release the first FF mirrorless like you did with the aps-c
Ok....first AUTO FOCUSING FF mirrorless camera.
I see leica on its own. I dont really see it as a mirrorless. its a niche rangefinder.
Common Samsung..... make a move. You need to release the first FF mirrorless like you did with the aps-c
SirSeth: I've read the article several times now and I'm still shaking my head as to what this is really about. It's Android. Linux based. An OS owned by Google. Why is Microsoft intellectual property licencing involved? Do they own the idea of an OS or something. The Redmond blurb seems to indicate that this mutually beneficial partnership is about making more services available, but the DPR copy makes it sound like Microsoft is suing all these companies pants off for stealing intellectual property. (Ok, maybe a little hyperbole there).
Google makes 100's of millions as well as microsoft. Google makes its bulk from google being google.
Microsoft has some patents(motorola had more and now google has all of them). Soon them patents will be determined to broad/or become invalid, and then they wont make anything.
beckmarc: Canon, the ball is now in your court
I think the 7D was a good answer back to the D300s. I thought it was a very very good camera when i was shooting with it. Never had a problem with it.
You cant beat this for 1199!
Costing more then the LX7 is a non starter(LX7 is $299). I dont see the point.
I would take the LX7 over this anyday, unless it really is that significantly smaller. The sensor on the LX7 is a 1/2.0 vs 1/2.3, so not much a difference. but the lens is much faster.
What does this have to do with photography? say people...
its the first tablet that can run LR! Lets see what makes it tick!
Looks like a well made tablet!
SemperAugustus: the Surface Pro received a 1 out of 10 score on iFixit's repairability scale — the worst any tablet has ever received
That doesnt mark bad against the tablet itself, just that they dont want it to be taken apart...
mauijohn: Five hours between charges..not much for air travelers...repair expenses could be 10 times more than the other laptop. so what makes the Mucousoft Surface Pro tick? nothing. except the price.... its a tick bite.
JAFO, this tab is a different beast compared to them...
Yea.....people were pretty disappointed with the iphone 5. Its an update. Not exactly an upgrade though. More evolutionary vs revolutionary. All they added was a longer screen and lte. thats about it. its a great phone.
The 5s will be in the same boat(same size and form), Or else they are going to anger ALOT of manufactures(cases and accessories)/developers(their app store, the only thing keeping them alive right now).
Nothing is keeping them from releasing a 6. just dont see it happening. Apples like canon now.
