Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and the a580, tripod, composite from 4 frames.

Sorry for the lack of EXIF on these - goofed that up in LR4 I'm afraid. Most were shot with the Tokina 11-16/2.8; a few of the close-ups were with a Minolta 35-70/f4 and the Sony 70-300g.

A variety of processing approaches on these -- no doubt some are more experimental but I'm having a lot of fun editing the atypical summer vacation pics...and some more conventional views of the...

Nice series. Looks like you are getting a lot out of your gear. I love the candid shot of the child, and the sunset is beautiful.

$150000 and only two cupholders? Bad deal in my opinion... :)
Nice pictures though!

No kidding...a badger took over the den!? That's almost funny, but not if the little foxes were teh victims. I love foxes! Last fall I saw my first badger ever, right there in Yellowstone. He was a...

Do you know if the lens corrections in IDC are functional for RAW files from the older bodies that don't have the in-camera lens profiles? (I shoot with an a580). Or do only the a77-era bodies have...

Excellent series! That Mormon Row shot is iconic, isn't it... a Facebook friend of mine was painting about that same perspective last week. The weather really sets the shot quality in Teton I...

Thanks Brian. No, not all in one day -- but a few were quite close together. I think the hawk and the antelope were within minutes if I remember right. A lot of these opportunities came from...

I did use a borrowed Bogen tripod on the elk shot, but the others were hand held. When I post my landscapes from this trip I think most of them will be tripod shots.

I didn't have an official guide, but was traveling with a good friend who has made dozens of fall and spring trips to the area over many years. Even so, it seems our best wildlife photo ops...

Thanks for the feedback. It's a fun time of year to be up there.

Thanks for the comments. The beaver was probably the most fun to watch out of all of these. The rumors are true--they are busy little creatures! This one maintains a lodge adjacent to a large...

These are all from last week with the a580 + Sony 70-300G, shot RAW and developed in LR with cropping and some exposure adjustments and noise reduction. Later I"ll post a landscape collection from...

Cool! I had no idea KEH did stuff like that. What did they charge you for that?

Yes, I noticed after I posted that one that it was a slower shutter speed, but in a quick tour of my shots from this morning it was one of the sharpest. I was using spot focusing but not center...

Well, it may have been a preset and easy for the end-user, but the technology behind that preset (and most image editing applications these days) is still very impressive to me, when you consider...

That is comforting...mine creeps a little when held nose-down, but it creeps less than the Tamron 70-300 (not the USD) that I purchased new a little over a year ago.
Are you getting good sharp...
