"I would like to buy the X10. However, how can I be sure that I get the X10 with the new sensor (the one that remedies to the "orb" problem)?
How do I recognize it? can the new-sensor-X10 be identified by the serial number? which is the starting serial number that identifies the new-sensor-X10 ?

I sent a similar question to Fuji UK and got this reply:

"We are sorry to advise that at this moment in time FUJIFILM UK, do not have any information regarding new stock of X10.
We are firstly advising customers to try the new firmware update for the X10 which addresses the blooming issue which some customers have experienced.
If you find that you are still experiencing problems after the firmware update, we can then register your details for the free sensor replacement. If this is the case, please provide your full name, postal address and camera serial number. When the sensors become available you will be sent pre-paid packaging to enable you to send your camera to our service centre safely and free of charge. This process is expected to start in May and will be on a first come, first served basis.
The sensor replacement program will accorded the highest priority and carried out as quickly as possible when sensors become available."
