Replied in Can I start with prime only + D3200/D5100 ?
You didn’t say it outright. You insinuated it. Plain as day when you went on your long winded rant about the “masters.” You said:
Sure sounds like you are advocating for one normal prime while...

The 35 1.8G has a built in AF-S motor. It will autofocus on any of the Nikon digital SLRs.

I thought we were talking about a person looking to buy their first real camera? Must we always have to bring up that Carter guy everytime there is a discussion about taking pictures?

Replied in Can I start with prime only + D3200/D5100 ?
Agreed. I have a tendency to see it that the people advocating the use of only primes tend to be the lazy ones.
This idea that you let the framing of the subject dictate the distance from...

If only the zooms came with a way to prevent those rings from turning. Then a person could be limited by all those things you insinuate to be virtues.

Replied in Two reasons
I would agree with this.
Barring significantly off settings, there's a lot of leeway in color cast.
The biggest issue occurs when a grouping of similar images have varying WB casts. Then it...

Replied in Why do we care so much about WB?
How would it be aby easier to do it at the time of the shot, as opposed to doing it during post processing?
I honsetly can't think if a reason why it would be "easier" or more accurate to do it...

Replied in You like more work????
I question the notion that it is "more work" to click with your mouse to change the WB, anymore than it is to press a button on your camera to change the WB...
In any case, I find this argument...

Replied in Portrait lens 50mm 1.8g or 85mm 1.8g
Have you looked at the Nikkor 60mm macro? Two birds with one stone if you're looking to also get a macro lens at some point. Alternatively, the Tamron 90mm macro is known as a good portrait lens...

Replied in Personally,
Personally, I'd pick any of a number of lenses... ...and then concentrate on the lighting gear.
It's more important.
In any case, I tend to not go past 35mm on a DX camera, even for groups...

*Why are Christians so concerned with homosexuality? In the first place, that question is answered by the simple fact that it is the most pressing moral...

Fair enough. I’d not heard of Aputure prior to your post. Let us know how they work out when you get some time with them.

Replied in "Aputure" Trigmaster Plus vs. Cactus V5 vs Yongnuo
The 603s can be bought in a kit that comes with two transceivers and a cable to trigger the camera shutter.
Amazon has them for most every configuration of Nikon and Canon camera.
