I wish the US still had dozens of camera shops.
I'll go to Seoul if I want to check out lenses before buying.

I agree with tedolf. Start within your cost and learn as you go. The E-PL2 with 14-42mm and Oly 40-150mm probably can be bought for $500 or so. This would give you interchangeable lens camera...

For narrowing the view to isolate a subject from surroundings, yes. More often than not though I have enough time to change lenses and frame a shot. But sometimes 28mm or 300mm on a zoom isn't...

I agree very much Lincoln B. There are always missed expressions and other very quick changing elements in a photo. This picture has the possibility of getting it wrong too. Sometimes things happen...

Are they providing you dinner/food? Ask! We knew beforehand if they were or not.
There will be down time. Don't look bored. Also there could be 2-4 hours between ceremony/church and...

I did four weddings alone after many as an assistant and said no more because - 10am to 10pm is a really long day, and dealing with people that long in that situation wasn't for me.
A long time...

At least SW Michigan has dark areas. Northeast Illinois is all white. Even 50 miles west of city has suburban light pollution.

Got mine a month ago, no issues, works fine, came with 14-42 II R lens, about $150 less refurbished than brand new. Firmware is 1.0, so requires upgrading yourself, but I haven't found need to.

My thoughts too. Whether film, ff, aps-c or mft, the equivalent 28-200/300mm zooms do fair at best at the ends and only sometimes good in the middle. Carrying and changing lenses is tiresome, but...

The Panasonic 7-14mm length stays the same when zoomed.

A Popular Photography May 1975 magazine ad shows $295 for the Vivitar 70-210mm F3.5 lens. Cameras which came with a 50mm f1.8 could get an F1.4 for $30 more.

You've gone through what I and others have done - buy a lens and it not being as expected. Mediocre image quality (dull colors, low contrast), too big, doesn't feel right, not wide or telephoto...

There are adapters to fit most lenses to most slr & dlsr cameras.

Guy Parsons is spot on with his replies and insight, except for waiting. There's always a new camera, cell phone, etc. coming out, so one would end up never buying because of it.

FF sensors will be better in 5-10 years as will the smaller format sensors. Each improves.
Number of FF cameras sold may be less, but those who want or need FF will continue to do so. Pentax still...

This has been an issue for decades. The CRT tube tv's have lead which will leach into rainwater and end up in ground water. Nickel cadmium and mercury batteries were banned for sale because of...

In a landfill. Cameras, cellphones, computers, game consoles, any electronics from years ago, most have been thrown out. They stop working & cost more to fix than replace, or worth little on eBay &...

Same here in Chicago, no OMD, Nex or other more expensive cameras to see and touch. Walmart and Costco type stores only carry $250 or less P&S and Canon & Nikon basic dslr kit. Central and Helix in...
