Bill Stewart seems to think DIGIC processor/processing and sensor are the same thing, don't believe so, thats why we have those 2 diff words. Processing the same sensor (or a diff one) differently...

Both with all defaults in menu and set for my prefs, when in P,A,T,M modes, a half press of shutter button does NOT focus!! Tried all AF modes but I prefer 1 shot.
It does focus for all other modes...

Hah, Hah! Canon claims it is for the 'cinematic' effect, but I am with you, its all about processing capability, the lack of ! Or else new f/w would have been released even for P&S models to get...

I am with you on this!! I do believe that smear is better visually IMO, than is stuttering, but elimination of both is best!!

Now that both UDTV's are available at 'reasonable' prices ($2500 reasonable?) how do your P&S or DSLR HD videos look on them?

I believe just as important as raw output is 'wide dynamic range' video, which does not use the normal DSLR curves but a linear flat bit distribution for all luminous (or more so at least). (and...

You certainly have a point here, "stupid is as stupid does" and boy are we raising lots of uneducated stupid ppl in the US! (I am surprised some don't have to utter 'Left, Right, Left...' when they...

All you say is true, but WB is reason enough NOT to use jpeg only, and I love to tweak the WB for 'mood' shots, adding additional 'color texture' to shots or simply correcting AWB.
Or if doing...
