  • Replied in K3 Moire
If you see worse than this all the time, what's your solution?  Do you fix it post-production or while you're still shooting?
  • Thanks for the link to the IR section on on-demand low-pass filtering. It was a super interesting read, and had useful tips for using Pentax's AA filter simulator.  For instance - the differences...
  • Replied in K3 Moire
Unfortunately, I still use CS3 and ACR 4.6 and no LR.  Thanks for the tip - if I ever upgrade, I'll have to check it out.
  • Replied in K3 Moire
No offense, but that looks terrible. I appreciate the tip though - I think I will try to avoid it in the first place rather than post-processing it into that horrible mess.
  • Replied in K3 Moire
I think that's what I might do - for each wardrobe change, I'll take some test shots and check at 100% to check for moire.
  • Replied in K3 Moire
How does shooting in RAW help?  (In fact, I shot these in RAW, so if you know of some secret way to de-moire, please do share.)
  • Created discussions K3 Moire
During a recent shoot in the studio, I saw my first real example of moire in some of my shots. Reading the comments below the K3 ongoing review, it made me realize that before I saw this moire, I...
  • I have both the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 A and the Pentax 35mm f/2.4. Bought the Pentax 35 first, because it was just so cheap!  I like the focal length, but heard such great things about the Sigma that I...
  • You're right, after around f/2.8, it's acceptable quality.  In the studio, using it around f/5.6 or f/8, it was good, but so are the 40mm ltd and the 70mm ltd (and most other lenses). But when I...
  • I used to use the Tamron 28-75 for portraits, half- and full-length shots, but I never used it again after picking up a 40mm 2.8 and a 70mm 2.4. I noticed the background blur (bokeh) of the 28-75...
  • Of all the lenses I own, it's definitely the best, hands down.  Optical quality and build quality are top notch.  Only downside is that it's larger and heavier than the Limiteds.  But I still use...
  • I have both the Pentax 35mm and the Sigma 35mm.  Both lenses are good, but if you can wait and save up, I'd suggest saving for the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art.  Of all the lenses I have, it's probably one...
  • Replied in Sony Cards
Thanks for the tip on the Sony 94 mb/s cards -- my fingers will be crossed for some good deals in the near future.
  • I hope most of this information isn't already posted, or else I might feel like I wasted my time doing it. It seems like as soon as the buffer has space while its clearing, you can fill it back up....
  • I was about to post this info - figured I would post it in answer to your question. Just received my K-3 this evening, and here are some results (I almost always shoot RAW, so that was the focus on...
  • But sometimes, due to the weight of the lens, the contacts between the lens and camera body lose contact, and the camera body won't recognize or control the lens.  Not sure if this means the fit of...
  • According to this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html It says you you need at least Camera Raw version 6.3 to read raw files from the K-5. If true,...

  • I've seen that report on low-light problems with K-5 AF, but I'd just like to share my experience where the problem is not limited to specific conditions. I shoot both in the studio and outdoor on...
