The edges are sharp and the aberration is gone, but it looks like it lost some detail in the actual subject.

I actually just bought one of these over the nifty fifty once I had them side-by-side.  I actually prefer framing images with this lens over the 50mm.  Sure a 30-35mm is "more" like a standard 50mm...
