What's the ISO????
MichaelK81: i admit, I am jealous. As an avid user of Nikon's CLS system, this is the first time I wish something similar had been implemented across Nikon's speedlight models. Infrared triggering is fine for indoor use, but fails miserably everywhere else. +1 for Canon for taking a leap forward.
@Michaelk81, don't be jealous, Nikon Flash system is by far superior to Canon's and no matter how many bells and whistles Canon bring to the market, it can not bit Nikon flash technology in accuracy and reliability.
patchfree: When we got a review on dpreview?!
The GX2 will be already out when this review will appear...
Isn't it strange?????? There has been previews and samples of Canon and Fuji mirrorless models which came after GX1 but still no full review about GX1. How should one interpret that?
what a failure! It is just another SLR without the optical view founder. very disappointing:(
regova: Arrogance kills,................. so sorry for the employees who have to deal with the bad economy.
Agree. History repeats. Kodak management stopped at some point to learn from history. They could have been still in business if they were not so disconnected from " real life", market trends, customers' demands, , etc. However, I do acknowledge their contribution to advancement of photography and wish they can make a comeback, learn from their mistakes and provide better and cheaper HIGH END products with better customer service. I hope it's not too late now. we will see.
Feud: Fuji achieved their mission statement: "Kill Kodak".
No, Kodak killed himself. Fuji just helped a little bit. Even if Fuji didn't ever exist, Kodak couldn't last long.
Arrogance kills,................. so sorry for the employees who have to deal with the bad economy.
Ashley Pomeroy: They should call themselves Mama, I Fly! AA!
That would be even better. If My Lamaea?
johnparas11zenfoliodotcom: for the $799 price-- one can have a Canon T3i or a Nikon D5100 -- give or take $50-- when the DSLRS are on sale..
right now the Canon T3i is $749 on sale, the Nikon D5100 is $799..
granted the DSLRs are not as small..but they are small already as far as DSLRs are concerned.. but then again, I am betting the DSLRs AF a lot faster than the G1x...
why can't have it all? :-)
if this Canon G1X-- is priced at $549 ... I think I will be more than willing to have it :-) does anybody share these thoughts?
Have you thought about Panasonic Lumix G3 or GX1? Its very questionable to me why dpreview has already published pre-production samples of Canon G1x and not any sample of Panasonic GX1, which has been out for few months now.???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
In my humble opinion, the Panasonic Lumix G3 seems to be offering the most bang for the bucks compared to any other mirrorless camera on the market , as of now (despite of its limited Dynamic Range).
Since, aside of lLEICA M9, there is no other Full Frame mirrorless camera out there, I would have loved to see a side by side comparison test of these 4 cameras (with smaller sensors) before purchasing one.Fujifilm X-Pro1 ,Canon PowerShot G1XPanasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and Sony NEX-7.
