Replied in sigma 150-500 or tamron 200-500 with A77?
I think the Tamron is a lot smaller and lighter.

With all due respect,
The Zigview is a blurry, low resolution, grainy pile of garbage.

I'm not leaving. Just want my FF 36MP dSLT!

Created thread Sony, where is the FF 36MP Alpha SLT?
My Alpha 65 is a tremendous image capturing device. But I'd like even more dynamic range and resolution.
So where is it? You're losing Alpha mount landscape photographers to Nikon while people...

Replied in Sigma 20mm f/1.8 vs. Sigma 24mm f/1.8 vs. Sigma 28mm f/1.8
I really like the 20/1.8.
It's a perfect focal length for indoor available light group photography. Stopped to f/8 it makes a cracking moderate wide landscape lens on APS-C.

If he is talking about focal-length limited photography (ex. birds far away) he is exactly right.

Actually a very good point given the existence of the LA-EA2.

Replied in Why Sonys Rock
The biggest win for the Sony in this situation is the fast liveview AF. Of course, articulating screens are nice for sure too.

Stabilization is a strange beast.
I got tack-sharp results from my old Sony R1 at 120mm focal length equivalent in the 1/30 second shutter speed range. Granted, I'm a pretty damn good target...

The good news is most of the really compelling IQ improvements are in the past.
Sony's latest sensors are getting very close to being IQ limited by the number of photons captured. And even the...

Replied in Yawn is one of most overused phrase by photogs...
At base ISO it's not any noisier than the Alpha 900 at base ISO.
And with DOF and pixel size differences, you don't need (or want!) to stop down the Alpha 77 as much as the Alpha 900.
You...
