Thanks so much dark boob.
Well, if I have to deactivate all the features to keep my battery from draining then what good iOS7 is it? lol
I can't believe how unpolished the iOS7 is, considering the...

Is it me or the 5s has issues capturing Reds? On the other phones the Reds are bright and saturated. On the 5S, the reds look more like orange. I was expecting better performance than the 5 or 4s...

Kodak paper on RGB CMY filter array.

I meant to say that the real world amount of detail is infinity. But sure, I am aware of optic limits on resolution.
Dude now thats SciFi! maybe for the year 3000.

The intention with this pattern is to gather more samples across the visible spectrum.
I believe this could enhance color accuracy, SNR and less visible Moire when removing the low pass filter.
Dr....

Kodak has a paper that explains this.
Will post it when i find it.
It has to do with dye spectral absorption and CMY having a wider band.
-
yeah I've been wondering about that too.
My guess is that the color accuracy and sensitivity gain are not big enough to bother with the more complex demosaicing algorithms.
Anyways, I made this...

For some applications like product photography, the current technology can be consider "ideal".
But, there are still so many challenges and goals to fulfill.
Here is a list.

According to Imatest...
"Exposure Index and Sensitivity are closely related and sometimes used interchangeably, but should be kept distinct."

Thanks Simon.
It seems there could be a more fitting title for this forum section.

It is a well known fact. Google it.
Perhaps with the exception of color reversal film that has a more linear response than negative film.
It is precisely because of this logarithmic response that...
-
So true !
Yep
Some cameras have two stage amplifiers.
Which is very different to using films of different ISO.
-
I did, and I think i gave you a good example for you to think about.
Are you saying then that Film speed rating is not different from sensors?! LOL
To begin with Film has a logarithmic response to...

Yes! It should be, Photography and Film Photography.

Cool yeah that is another one.
But I'm sure the Red Epic makes a "digital push" when no recording in Raw.
IMHO I think ISO is better left to Film. Video has managed to exist without ISO since its...

Physically? None. Same sensor no matter what ISO, pixel size remains the same.
Electronically: Analog signal amplification, software "Level" boost or a combination of both depending of...
-
Me too.Especially with cell phones cameras.
Is a matter of how much software correction.
This is a paradigm shift for any one making money with high grade lenses.
-
Wow! so ISO is irrelevant then for aRGB or cameras with panchromatic sensors?
Haha! Nopers!
Sensor and Film might well accomplish the same thing, but Sensor isn't Film :-P
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
