  • My camera has been with CR Kennedy for several weeks now for BF issues. I'm told by one of their technicians that apparently they're waiting for some software for the K3 ? Anyone know what this ...
  • Hi petroglyph, Just to ensure that my testing wasn't scrutinized by the techs, I made sure the batteries were precisely at 45-deg. My camera focal plane was perpendicular to the middle battery to ...
  • Replied in @ Nuffin
Hey kikivrany, I thought of the same thing also, but the backfocus remained consistent at wider apertures. When I increased the aperture, of course all the batteries were then in focus. What I did ...
  • Hi Roland, Yes the batteries are apart enough so the focus point doesn't accidentally pick up the wrong battery. Plus I have a white background to eliminate accidentally confusing the camera.
  • My K3 is in service for backfocus issues. Kinda disappointed mine had this issue. I'm keen to see if the service department will blame it on the lens, the body, or me. I spoke to a tech recently ...
  • Created discussions K3 serviced for focus issues?
Has anyone sent in their K3 for servicing due to back focus or front focus issues? If so, was it determined that it was your lens or the body that had focus issues? If the body, is your focus ...
  • 75% failure rate on the K5?!? That sound like a bad unit, or something is misaligned.
  • Give your camera a good dose of combantrin :P Seriously though it looks like a thread. Use a blower. I highly doubt it's oil stains or sensor stains (hopefully not).
  • I honestly don't know what these "different" things you need to do just because you jump from a 16Mp to 24Mp. I went from 6Mp to 10Mp to 16Mp and my shooting style never changed. Yes there is ...
  • Wow, I just stumbled into this thread, and it's amazing how one camera can turn it's users against each other. Has it really come to the point where the K3 JPEGs are perceived in general as just ...
  • To kikivrany and everyone, thanks for you very helpful insight. I think I'm convinced on the Metz 58.
  • Created discussions Metz AF-2 and the K3
I'm in the market for a new flash unit to replace my old Sigma DG 500. If you're using a Metz AF-2 with your K3 can you please let me know if it's a good unit to invest in? Are there any ...
  • This new poll is to ensure that Pentax doesn't end up being first again. It's like someone winning the 100m sprint who's a total unknown, beating the favourites, then the IOC says they now have to ...
  • It looks like the OP already did switch the High Auto ISO NR to OFF. I'm also keen to know what other possible causes are to the K3 softness. I have to admit, at 100% viewing, quite a few of my K3 ...
  • Is it me or am I getting a feeling that owners of the K3 are disappointed with the noise performance of their cameras? I took plenty of JPEG photos during Christmas and New Years and most were ...
  • K3 with the ACMAXX.
  • Hey Scott, I use the ACMAXX on both K5 and K3. I've always gone with the hard cover and it's always done the job. It has no tinting and it also doesn't affect the images you view on the LCD. The ...
  • I have that lens on my K3. It's a fantastic lens. It hasn't been detached from the K3 since I got it over a month ago. I now use this lens with the K3 everywhere I go. Yes there are better lenses ...
  • Get it John! Then claim from the TRS once you pass Australian Customs at the airport and get the GST back...then it becomes even cheaper when you calculate it.
  • There's obviously tremendous bias towards Nikon. Since it's so bleeding obvious, their review is worth less than used toilet paper.
