Btw., since when do you use this hand model with long finger nails wearing bright red varnish? ;) Is that to say sth about the camera?

Pentax I love you for making things others don't, and for making them available in metal green with pink hand grips and yellow lense :))

I really worry about the lack of fine detail (hair, fur), but actually it has pretty exactly the same IQ as Samsung's EX2F, which was rated a pretty good camera here. Despite the soft jpegs. Are we...

The images are not merely a little soft but there's a several lack of detail... strange. In the test by photozone.de the lense proved to be rather good, but they mentioned IQ falloff at close...

Nathebeach: okay, I for my part would rather have a severely underexposed, blurred 1600-iso-shot than that blotchy iso 4000 ;) Still I find the speed of evolution in sensors impressive. I see this...

Actually some images fail to impress me. The Nectarines look a little plasticky, the lawn looks dead... should be better with some postprocessing. If all this is default NR I'm curious to see RAW...

I'd only use iso4000 in black and white!

Nicer background blur than I expected... Now it would be cool if Pentax came out with a high quality prime pancake for Q-mount. Something in the line of something in the line of the Pentax smc DA...

1.7" is too small? For what? when? Go to the Pentax MX-1 studio scene comparison widget, higher iso, select to compare it with EOS 50D, Canon's S 90 (wich used to lead all enthusiast compacts best...

Sensors have evolved so fast that I keep thinking this little machine produces images of radically better quality (and much larger too) than a dslr from 10 years ago. So why should anyone think...

Curious to see the Q7 with that sensor...

yes, i agree. i didn't mean they should have made a m4/3 Q. i just think starting out with 1/1.7" would have been met with less sneer than what the original Q was greeted with...

funny, how the focal lengths become more interesting by enlarging the sensor :) I love the 23 – 69mm range as standard! cool they thought of it in the when developing the glass! wonder why they...

Sorry, I was being unclear... I did not think you were worrying about distortion. I always ask myself if distortion correction generally does not affect image quality. I read the jpegs are well...

in germany the original Q, the design of which I actually prefer, is about €220 now with the kit zoom. i guess this is finally a cometitive price. kits with both lenses sell for about €480.
