It would not surprise me if Adobe rescinds their CC only policy after all the negative feedback. In the meantime they will have generated lots of cash flow with all the outright purchases of PS CS6.

For $700 I might consider it but at $1100 I'd rather spend another $100 and go with the Fuji X-100S that comes with a parallax corrected viewfinder, split image manual focusing and a more useable...

No need to include the X100 as is does not have the X-Trans sensor. If you're looking for better detail do not sharpen in ACR but rather in PS.

I believe the last sentence of your article is the most likely explanation. The other might be to discourage and or reap some of the profits from a digital back made for a Nikon.

I believe what they meant is that the lens is "unusually fast" for a kit lens supplied with a MILC. Perhaps you didn't get the implication.
