Just Ed: Seems to be limited to a particular segment of the production run which would indicate manufacturing rather than design problems.
Congrats to Nikon for recognizing the problem and being on top of the remedy.
Still like my Canon though.
@io_bgyou're probably right .. :)
did Nikon have any other choice than to recognise the problem ?..
(unknown member): I might just buy that D750 sooner than planned. What held me back was the lack of built-in GPS. Now that I have the di-GPS Eco Pro for my D800, no need to wait since it also mounts to the D750.
The D750 I my local dealer allowed me to test did not exhibit the talked-about flare. I hope the dealer still have it on Monday.
@ecube you are just annoying sentimental a Nikon owner/buyer, .. I visited your DP pf; .. honestly, does anyone need a 3000 € camera to get this ?
That's an example among others ..
CameraLabTester: Nikon is a good company with good products.
Hopefully, there won't be a time when they have to explain why they disappeared from the planet, entirely.
Marty4650: I think it's time to stop blaming Nikon for their bad behavior in the D600 fiasco, and start praising them for at least learning something from their past mistakes.
Nikon finally got it, and now they are doing things right.
Some companies never get it.
After seeing their fast response to the D750 problem, I have MORE faith in them, and not less.... I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their products based on this.
@Marty4650, you must be quite a sentimental Nikon owner ;) :D
D600 : 87% & GAD750 : 90% & GA
.. and obviously, in the wake of Nikon's quality control incidents DP reviews' reliability is swinging .. :(
mpgxsvcd: Saying nothing about something is better than saying something about nothing. Just ask Canon.
the same could be said about your comment too :-))
turvyT: D750 looks wonderful until you compare it in lab test section with Pentax 645z. Then, image quality wise, D750 looks just like one more of the pack. I know that IQ only doesn't say much about usability, but the difference is impressive.
turvyT, does that mean you've got a 645Z and some of its lenses, and got some shooting experiences with it ? .. I didn't see any in your dp gallery
quality take !.. congrats
NJOceanView: The incredible D7000 is available for $489.00 at Amazon for those interested. I figure I can sell my 7D2 used (~4,000 actuations) for $1,467.00 and buy three D7000s. But now I see the D7000, too, only got a Silver Award just as the 7D2 did, and more surprisingly received a score of just 80%, even lower than my ever-so-imperfect 7D2. I'm so tied up in knots, I just don't know what to do.
"I just don't know what to do." ..
Just stop buying cameras, go out and take pictures; .. try to set your OWN opinion on your equipment :))
Love Photography 888: This camera makes the D750 look like the bargain of the year.
D750 is a FF, 7D is an APSC !
Joo Prates: I come back to my point about Canon:THE NUMBERS ARE COLD, BUT SHOW THE FACTS:
Let's go to DPR ratings. In interchangeable Lens Cameras, ordered by rating, in Gold Awards, we find in the 10 first best cameras:
- One Canon Camera (EOS-1D Mark IV- 89% / Feb 2010) ,
- Four Nikon cameras (D3S - 89% / Feb 2010; D610 - 87% / Mar 2014; D600 - 87% / Nov 2012; D7100 85% / Apr 2013)
The new Canon 70D - 83% / Oct 2013 in 13 position Gold Award
The new 7D MarkII - 84% / Dec 2014 Silver Award
So, after 5 years...it's the best Canon achieves with their 7D Mark II? the same sensor...low DR...no Wi-fi? are you joking with us?
For instance in lens...how is it possible that Sigma makes a 50 mm 1,4 Art lens, for 950USD (price droping), and the top Canon L 50mm 1,2 that sells for 1600USD is worse in all levels, compared to the Sigma?
I've been a canonist all my life, but I'm disappointed with Canon Cameras and lenses, and I'm considering making the big move - changing to Nikon.
and, after all, as a "life long" Canon user, what's your OWN experience with the brand then ? ..
amazing a compo !..
that sounds rather like an advertising disguised as news :D
absolutely exquisite set .. congrats "mom" :)
impressive series ..
yonsarh: If Pentax change their design concept, will be their customer
.. then I hope you won't become a Pentax costumer ;) :D
Jimmy jang Boo: If the $1200 70D is a cutting edge stalwart, it's a seriously dull cutting edge.
Wouldn't be better to call it what it really is? According to dpr, image quality isn't really any better than the NEX-5N, which also meters and focuses better than the 70D. And in terms of low light and high ISO performance, the 70D lags a good distance behind the 5N. Gold must be pretty cheap to be so freely given away.
" Gold must be pretty cheap to be so freely given away. " .. so well put !
Admittedly the conclusions of this test, as for the IQ, rise more questions than they offer reliable answers; .. can anyone say me in what respect the IQ of this stuff is any better than (let's say) 40D's one ? Where is the IQ improvement ? Did Cannon have improved the IQ any significantly since 40D in this line up of cam ?
quality photography !..
