This whole Touit thing reads like a result of some political infighting inside the company.
Manager A: We should develop a product for market XManager B: There's not enough volume in market X to...

when Bryan Adams embarked on his photography quest there was this huge ripple in the force, as Canadian fashion industry collectively rolled their eyes. just a sheer amount of snide remarks back...

mt video-shooting friends tell me that mike connectivity is largely irrelevant these days. The latest trend, or so I am told is to shoota scene using camera mic, while recording a high quality...

1. yes. There are adapters for Nikon lenses, with varying degrees of quality and complexity (ie. aperture control on the adapter, etc.). Do a quick search on ebay, it brings up scores of different...

I'll save you the trip: it's C1 :)

A small, inexpensive x-mount camera sold as a kit with say 27mm pancake might be a pretty attractive deal, actually!
But they should call it F series, or Z or whatever. Promoting it as a part of...

If you are thinking about studio photography syncing is generally not an issue, as a couple of decent strobes can put out so much more light than ambient.
I haven't tried XE1 but Xpro1 worked fine...

Heh, funny enough I could totally do without these two features you mention - especially the way they are done in this camera (I do like the hybrid aspect of the VF, though).
Oh, and I don't chimp...

All of these things - articulated touch screen, wifi, gps - certainly have value. But I don't see how they connect with stated X-Pro philosophy - a classic, retro-inspired design with great image...

like others pointed out, the best way is to keep DR to 100% if shooting raw, and turn it on as needed when shooting jpegs.
The camera does a pretty good job lifting up shadows in DR200 and DR400...

McDonalds is by far the most popular restaurant chain in USA (if you can call it that). Shall we use McD burgers as a baseline for comparing quality of beef across the country? Furthermore, LR...

How I wish that this nonsense with Lightroom would just cease already. Version 7.4 still doesn't work with xtrans, it just doesn't work in a slightly different manner. Talk about procrustean...

I think it depends on why you (or I) bought Xpro1 in the first place.
I wanted a digital rangefinder camera with an autofocus and a classic control layout. This is about as close as it's going to...

I agree with OP, focus peaking (or focus confirmation) are pretty essential for a new camera system. I mean, one of the attractions here is the ability to use older lenses while waiting for native...

Photographic artwork (formally) or just even a copywork is a discipline of its own, and I sort of doubt that it's possible to to do a proper job handheld with a small camera, and without any...

Up in the mountains you would want the widest lens you can get, unless you are willing to do panoramas. Just my 2 cents.

whoever designed the original USB connector ought to be taken behind the shed and beaten with a rake. Just about anything would be an improvement over it.Everyone is doing it, starting with...

I am sorry to say but I find Mauro B's analysis lacking. In fact, just about every point he makes is factually wrong, starting with the reference to some undisclosed Italian magazine research into...

Mine sounds about as loud as XF 35mm I think...
If you are in Toronto stop by my shop we can compare notes.

optically, XF 35mm F/1.4 is probably the best lens I currently have, dollar for dollar. So if you can do with that focal length then that's the one to get.
I like 18mm well enough, it's smaller and...
