John King: Simply gorgeous! Well done.
Thanks for the nice words!
Roland Karlsson: Ehhhh ... what the %&%¤%¤# ...
Have never seen such a thing before.
Normally water birds do not get wet as they are protected by the clever feather construction plus some fat. But this one sure looks like it is very wet. Like a dog shaking off water.
actually pretty normal behavior for these birds. see a few other nice similars of spoonbill and pelicans in this same challenge.
RuthC: Wow! That must have been an interesting sight, summicron, and your capture has earned you first place in 'BathTime! (Nature) challenge. Great colours, movement of the spoonbill as well as the 'dancing' waterdrops, and the overall enjoyment of this large bird playing in the bath. Ruth :-)
thx for nice words and hosting the challenge!
Thanks. Altho I have to admit the winning shot was super.
Thx for nice comments!
RuthC: Yet another excellent capture, summicron, of an alert bear sniffing the air, this one a very big, hairy brown grizzly. Beautiful. Ruth :-)
thejohnnerparty: Beautiful girl. Nicely done.
the image shown is 50% crop from original and I was perhaps 10 ft away, with the wrought iron gate in background another 10 ft behind model. 200mm lens will certainly blur backgrounds even at f/11. don't worry about asking questions and im an old guy and always learning, too!
Thanks! For this challenge I went into the kitchen and did a studio still life, only to realize later the challenge called for people! Luckily I had an archived shot with the model that seemed to work!
ysal: Nice shot.
Thanks! These guys can smell food from a mile away!
Thanks for nice words!
summicron: looks great. what do i do with my current 3880 and inventory of spare ink cartridges??

Toermalijn: Great shot!
