backayonder: Plugging 9volts into a Canon? I wonder what the tolerance is?

I think, at this voltage level and Ah power, there is no risk for the camera.

I use successfully a Li-Ion battery for a old JOBO GIGA-X HD to have the power for a SIGMA SD9 that is running with 4 AA akku or 4 AA alcaline cells with a very , very short time of use ( 20 - 40 shots.....)

With this akku I can shot more than 400 images.

The nominal voltage is 5 V and the power is 4 Ah.

Also I use it successfully with Sigma SD 14 -15 and PENTAX K10 ( 7,4 V ) with no problems......

Bad, Very bad Idea !

Fortunately I possess only a D70s and Micro Nikkor 55mm f: 2.8 ......

all the batteries of my cameras (RICOH GXR, PENTAX K10, SIGMA SD14 / 15 etc ... etc ...) except the one purchased in boundle are compatible batteries that I used for years without any problem ....... and their price ranges is from 1/10 to 1/5 of the original battery!

We know that Nikon does not have the technology and industries to produce batteries and probably its batteries are manufactured by companies that also sell on their behalf .......

And is unbearable to spend so much money for an identical product, with same or little less features, to own!

We have come to a creeping form of begging industry to exploit its monopoly!!

I hope, for Nikon for a reformation on this idea.

Best regards

Salvatore

Very interesting IDEA......

But FUJI arrived late.......This Idea was a RICOH focus improvement on the GXR System. Not the same ( Ricoh haven't the split image feature ) but similar....

The new GXR can have it...... stay alert !

A question:

Why, more than 2 years ago, when RICOH made the mode 2 focus iimprovement on GXR SYSTEM, any person no highlighted with the same emphasis this very important feature?
At today's date DPReview also has ignored a test of GXR!

If you are patient in a few months you'll find it at that price.

SONY NEX certainly could be more versatile but as for image quality DP1M is better in everything ....

Ciao

The Sigma Cameras with X3F FOVEON imager are not for common people but for specialists !

If you buy a DPxx or a SDxx it must be implied that you have other cameras of a certain level.

Not all of them can satisfy all the requirements ..... It must, however, use the right camera for a given situation. So we can use PENTAX, CANON, NIKON, SONY etc. ... for high ISO and low light and have some great images ....

For normal lighting situations (eg by day, views and photos in external) will be used SIGMA with the certainty of having pictures with better quality , clarity, sharpness and color rendition.

I am waiting for the price in the European and Italian market......

However, I have no idea why Mr. Yamaki not want to make a DPXXX Mirrorless.

SIGMA has the technology to do so and allow users to use, with adapters (such as SONY, FUJI, CANON, PENTAX, RICOH, etc. ....) all lenses currently available, in order to yield the sensor FOVEON X3F sensor vs BAYER sensor even of the latest generation ....

Who says the price is unacceptable, he never tried to use the Foveon do not know the sharpness of his images ......

I think a full review wll not arrive..... Soon !

His name is RICOH, not CANON or NIKON......

I bought it and I am happy to use it ...... with his limits....

I should buy th VF-1 but before I should test it about his useful use.........

Is the VF-1 better than the LCD diplay ?

On Ricoh GXR Mount A12 preview (68 comments in total)

Wonderful solution !!!

If this module should have a FOVEON Imager, the same of SIGMA SD1 M or DPx M or the SD15 - DP1 x - DP2x with the same LEICA M bayonet mount to be able to mount on the module with adapter, all the lens ( PENTAX, CANON, NIKON, SIGMA, SONY etc...etc...)

We can arrive to a universal body for all lens mount..... :-)))
For me this ricoh would be the best camera of the world !!!

Cheers

I am very hay for this event. I hope in a new era for Pentax.
I hope that The "Q" project will be forgotten ......

I hope in a new mirrorless with APS-C or more big sensor with compatibility with SLR Pentax and Ricoh lenses .

Ad maiora !!
