Thank you DPR for bringing back lens review! Can't wait to see more of this!!! Or better yet, lens comparison! How about...for example... -Super zoom lens comparison, -fixed 28mm, 35mm, 50mm... lens comparison, -m43 Kit Zoom Lens comparison, -Micro Lens comparison, ...etc.

Jonathan F/2: I miss Phil Askey's sample shots. At least you get proper people photographs every time he took pictures of his wife/gf. What's up with these samples? Who gets a fast 70-200 2.8 equivalent lens and then goes off shooting land/cityscapes?
Dpreview, you should go check out this Korean photo site which did a much better preview on the 35-100 and a proper one at that with a real model!
Never a big fan of camera phone.... until NOW! These images are simply impressive by a smart phone. I would vote Damian as the CEO of Nokia for his genuine, logical and yet humble feedback. He would have turned around Nokia's product & stock....hmm. (Camera companies now please take notes!)

I have LX5 & Oly's ZX1 and love both cameras. This LX7 has everything I wanted: manageable pixal size, superb built quality and ergonomic, and produce excellent images. If priced this LX7 right, I will still buy this over Sony's RX100.

"Fujifilm will replace any units which have the problem, we've received no definitive answer from Fujifilm on how consumers can determine whether that X10 sitting on a camera store shelf or purchased online has the original or updated sensor..." Blah blah blah... Really?! I have NOT heard any words from Fuji at all on this issue. This is the only camera I ever ordered and canceled prior to its delivery.
I really like this Fuji, and it WILL still win me over the new Sony RX100. But I will not order it until Fuji apologizes and recall all existing 'white-orbs' X10s.
Let's wait and see...

Nice job, Nikon, for pushing the super zoom cam to the limit. But, for that price and size, I have Oly's EP2 with kit zoom lens which serves me very very well after 600+ beautiful shots over the long weekend. Not a moment do I feel the need of 300mm+ zoom. Oh well...

I'm not a Sony fan, not a big MegaPixel fan, and not a compact camera fan due to large hands and fingers, but I have to say this may be the best compact from Sony in years. I love the PSonic LX5 and Oly's XZ1 for their rather small size & manageable pixel count and fast lens. But, this RX100's image quality is excellent for a compact. I hope this 1" sensor is the start of many good things to come for compact camera. Really want to see the upcoming LX7 and ZX2 will adopt the 1" sensor, with 12~16MP and not more.

Funny. Many questioned the look of the camera. I actually like this unique look. 'Avant Garde' style! Images looks very good, too. But I really like to see BETTER sample photos. The sample photos are......yarn.....sleeeeepy.

Shame.
I like the original photo better. Rotate counter-clock wise a bit to line up the horizon and it could easily be '1st Place'.
Don't mean to rude, but next time when you want to enter Photo Challenge, try Photoshop to take out her red dress.
Thank you DPR for bringing back lens review!

Or better yet, lens comparison! How about...for example...
-Super zoom lens comparison,
-fixed 28mm, 35mm, 50mm... lens comparison,
-m43 Kit Zoom Lens comparison,
-Micro Lens comparison,
...etc.
Nikon FF 70-200mm F2.8: 205mm (8.1in) long, 54oz.
Nikon FF 70-200mm F4: 179mm (7.0in) long, 30oz.
Panasonic m43 35-100mm F2.8: 100mm (3.9in) long, 12.7oz.
Mmmm.....Which one to buy???
For those like me ordered the X-E1, here is a beautiful Korean site just to give you first taste of the camera & zoom lens' capability:

Wow! Stunning IQ & Bokeh. Thank you, Fuji! Now, hurry to ship me my order, please.
babamaru: Whats the point of having a small m43 camera if you are going to stick something like this to it?
Read the article, and when you see the size of Canon 70~200 F2.8 you will know why.
Nice fast lens & range.
I wish Fuji can make one like this for my upcoming X-E1. That will be really sweet!

Thank you, Jonathan F/2.
Your referred site truly better demonstrates the power of this lens.
Eye area a little too dark and blind her beautiful green pupils. Otherwise an outstanding photo.
I bet the next iPhone will have this function built-in.
Interesting video.
I would like to have her number, so I know who to call when my camera needs repair.
Aaaah... Yes!
Right dials at right place. And now with a flash! and F2.8-4 kit zoom!
I simply can't ask for more.
I'm ready to trade in my Oly EP3.
Yaah, F2.8-4! I would love to put this zoom lens on my new E-M5.
F2.8-4 should be new startard. Oly & Psonic, did you ever hear me??

With high retail price for RX100, this nice grip should have been included by Sony for FREE!
I have LX5 & Oly's ZX1 and love both cameras. This LX7 has everything I wanted: manageable pixal size, superb built quality and ergonomic, and produce excellent images.

How about $399???
Then, I will buy one for sure!
