Catalin Stavaru: Honestly, I am not impressed at all. I see some fringing of some sort in low-ISO images (not the best quality lens ?) and too much noise even at ISO2500. Also the JPEGs seem over-processed / over-sharpened and the colors are not the best I was expecting.

No- you have not....

Sad Joe: Unless you HAVE to have the viewfinder this latest Pen is an OM-D KILLER - of course we all know this is the OM-D in all but name. Expected to be some 100's of pounds cheaper I know which I would buy - the whole idea of the format is to enable SMALLER camera/ lens forms - and for most users I would say the new Pen fits the bill. Expect to see the OM-D retail price to begin to fall far and fast - something that up until now it hasn't done....oh and within a few months a MK2 OM-D with a higher MP sensor - shall we call it the OM-D 6 ?

Death they are not , crazy they are,

kadardr: WE tend to forget that there is a sony nex 7 which is a much better camera ( with the new lenses it IS fact). A bit stealthy though. Pretty against 'profi"??

N7 is not better camera .

brkl: That's pretty remarkable. As good as the best of APS-C it seems.

they are both excellent cameras ( I am sure about the nex 7 and I really hope for the E-m5 as I never use it - like nobody here either) for my needs now, the Nex -5n is the best - in a couple of years I will look around again and buy the nex 9 , or the E-m7 or whatever.

SDF: A65 body with 16MP sensor?

Hmmm maybe we will see a NEX-7 body with 16 MP sensor soon. :P

Its not like the 5n - its less, 5n has better IQ at any light level.

Anastigmat: Anyone who expects good high ISO performance from a sensor that is half the size of a full frame model is a fool, and a fool and his money will soon part company. If high ISO performance is of paramount importance, look instead at full frame cameras like the Canon 5DMKIII and Nikon D4.

Dear Naveed - I enter the conversation because for me it is not at all serious, people write here a lot of "very knowledgeable" posts about a camera which non of them ever used -. As I wrote above, for me its really not serious - absolutely not.(And sorry if it upset you )

Well I know its the Oly forum here - and I am a great fun of Oly - But there is a camera which cost much less then the E-M5 and has much better (!) IQ, known by the name of Nex 5n. So I wonder why you, dear Anstigmat - send us the fools to buy expensive FF camera instead of the E - M5 and not the 5n? ( I am waiting - by the way - to the new model E=MC2)

zodiacfml: I'm late to the action but has anyone noticed the very sharp rendering of the highly detailed objects despite the moire? This makes the camera sharper than APS-C sensors (except NEX-7).

Anyways, I thought the sensor, the light AA filter, and lens seems pretty good to me. I hope they could fit this sensor to an all new S camera.

Sorry to break the party - but G1x sensor, though its quite good , its far behind the sensors of the Nex 5n or 7. just for example G1x DXO = 60 , Nex 5n= 77, Nex 7=81. And so on in many other parameters.

Conrad567: My problem is I don't like the style of photography that an NEX requires. Holding a camera at arms length and pushing buttons to change the aperture or shutter. The endless menus etc. It is crazy. I like to set up a camera and then shoot on the fly old school like. Sony simply fails at basic understanding of how a camera should function. Fuji has returned to photographies roots, independent shutter dial and an aperture ring on the lens. These mechanics take design and components that simply adding another electronic motor and button don't require...so Sony cheaps out and makes an unusable camera in my OPINION. That is why this camera costs more and that is why people like me have been waiting for years for someone like FUJI to make. I can hardly wait for mine to come. I could never afford the LEICA offerings but I could afford the Contax G2 if it were around today...I only hope and pray that this camera lives up to expectation, if it does then it is a BARGAIN!!!

Until now nobody build a camera which comes close to the IQ results of the 5n/7 - and as a owner of both , I can tell that after few minutes of practicing it becomes very easy to work with the Nexes - really easy. Still I am waiting for the camera with the same results as the Nex (or better) which features old fashioned using style ( OLY OM-d ?) I don't care about Fuji cameras , which seems to have too many problems.

IMO great mistake - the G1x is here, real - with quite amazing results - the OM-d is by now only a pile of speculations and mountains of wishful thinking.

24images: Any improvement of the view finder ? (since there is no hope for the 53 years old photographer I am to operate from the back lcd) or is it still as precise as a fisher price camera ?

Why tell people sad stories about your poor ability at yours quite young age ( I hope you will become better, really - I am many years older then you and I love LCDs) - just buy the Nex 7.
