ian_labay: In my opinion, what Nikon needs is a rebirth of the original D70 concept. The D70 was one of Nikon's greats and was their first sub $1000 body. At the time it had great performance and won praises from both owners and reviewers. I loved the D70 so much that I bought it's updated brother the D70s as soon as it came out. What they need is too update to a full frame, sub $1000 body with great performance. Nikon would have a real winner, great seller and a rebirth! They can call it D70 mkII :)
Nikon would never use Canon labeling, maybe D70 II.
Thanks to most of you for the nice comments about the selected pics.
I'm proud to have the only b/w pic of the 15, and didn't see any others even submitted, so I didn't think it would have a chance. It was not HDR or wide angle, but rather a composite of 4 landscape shots stitched with Adobe CS6. It was raining where I was at the Tunnel View, and snowing at the higher altitude of the rim which is why the mountains are looking a bit more gray than usual. The snow was just starting to take hold. Wow, this one is great. Dave
Very nice pano Hamada-san. I love those cherry blossoms. Dave
Very nice Hamada-san. Keep em coming.....:) Dave
Very nice one Larry. I am replying here so as not to fill up the thread with my replies.
Great job on this John. I see you also picked up this great lens. It sure did compress the cars, and look at the ripples in the rails. Looks like BNSF needs to replace some track. Dave
You are going to have a ball in Alaska. These are all great shots Nick. I am looking forward to much more. Dave
Please put this in BETA until it is fixed and give us the old forum format back until then.
Bob Tullis: You've wanted me gone for years, it's no secret. When I joined DPR I had 20/20 eyesight, more stamina, and less gray. Yet, I remain despite the life being slowly but surely sucked out of my shell.
Now THIS? Pffft. It's going to take more than this forum change to get rid of me. Do your best.
Loveit Bob. there sure is a lack of positive posts.
ericinho: [OT] I find the downright rude and simply ungrateful behavior of some here baffling, especially since the entire site is FREE. So an effort to make the site better (again free of charge) should be applauded, supported and critized constructively instead of being a complete d--k moaning like a little kid about things that do not work and are "a big mistake".
ofcourse as with most (if not all) migrations to another system, a lot of things go wrong, but the DP team is working to fix them. So why don't you give them an encouragement by giving useful critique in a way your mother taught you to do. No one of us can make any claims or demands, since you don't pay a dime (and spare me non-arguments like the few ads here and there)
So instead of all this negativety that seems to be going around since too many month, try to be a bit more courteous It will make the boards a fun place again and the site in general more enjoyable to visit (plus as bonus the DP crew will likely appreciate it).
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
PhilM oz: When posting new messages links and images in the signature now appear as text. They appear correctly in old posts; but not new ones. There is no way to edit the signature to change them back to hyperlinks and images.
I thought it was just me. This is very frustrating. I think I might just check back in a month or two to see if anything is fixed or if they go back to the format that worked.
Give us back the old forum layout. This one stinks.
Is this a self portrait? Dave
It just give me the option for small, medium, and Large, and I am logged in.
ROFLMAO :) very funny Max
Very nice photo.
This is beautiful. Dave
It is a great photo and deserves to be number one, but I find it a bit discouraging when only 11 votes were cast for this picture. The voting response is extremely low in my estimation, and therefore I will not be participating in any further challenges. Dave--Visit my gallery at www.poperotzy.smugmug.com
