Exactly, numbers don't tell the whole story. The excellent microcontrast on 35mm makes it look sharper and more three-dimensional than (otherwise excellent) zoom.

Honestly I have no idea but quick looking through the specs you are giving up the main advantage of HS-50 over the X-S1 and older HS-es which is speed (both operational and PD-AF).
