so it's more of interchangeable/attachable module camera for smartphone than interchangeable lenses for smartphones. sounds almost like a future generation of devices.

there had been some lawsuit with samsung from ms. it was settled with many conditions. one of them was said to be "samsung will put more effort into windows based smart devices"

i don think nikon is going into making phones, unless they pair up with some phone makers. if they do it alone, it's almost sure to be a market failure.

next thing we'll hear about is canon unlocking some one shot hdr by just some firmware updates. Hope that happens. It's not impossible with this dual photodiode pixels. Will that happen atleast...

two photo diodes for a single pixel sounds different. wish if that helps to reduce noise too.

With this camera getting on sale, it'd almost be priced exactly over what the current 7D sells.
And, looking at the specs of this one, i think, the 7D mark II would have to be a lot lot better,.....

AFAIK, only nikon full frame bodies have aperture drive motors which are seperated from the mirror-drive one. So, you wont be able to change the aperture without getting the mirror down. That's a...

In crope mode you'll lose resolution. Significantly. But The image will not be resampled. And i'll admit that i dont know a lot about digital zoom, havent used it at all, even on mobile phones....

that's what a point and shoot camera does. Crops into the image digitally and zooms it for you. While Extender gives you magnification optically.
