In Sigma Merrill cameras (M) files metadata is no signs about variable sensor ISO, thereby we can guess that such kind of AFE, seen in SD15, is either gone or hidden (redesigned substantially)....
-
It is probably more like "Merrill cameras are optimized to use ISO200". This means that using ISO200 you usually get best dynamic range - enough headroom for highlights and almost unnoticeable...
-
There are possibilities to shoot red flowers without serious underexposing.
First, use ISO200 - this gives some freedom in SPP and reds tend not to blow out so easily. For AFE cameras this may not...

Physical lens system does not perform deconvolution in any possible sense.
-
Deconvolution (esp in digital realm) has always divide by zero (or divide by almost zero) problem. Actually even divide by almost zero creates big errors (=huge noise and ringing artefacts); most...

Problem is not in PSF complexity. Problem is that PSF depends on lens focal length, aperture value, object distance - on every aspect, able to change camera+lens+scene optical properties. You just...

How long this camera has not been in use? Maybe CF slot contacts (or even battery or some other contacts) in camera are just oxidized?
-
Me and many others too:) Not in details, but in general (and only color separation, not noise removal or other steps). That process creates about 4-5 times more noise than there is in original...

You could use alternative viewer (I'm using Irfanview, but hrere are more) to quickly scan through X3F images. These viewers dispaly embedded JPG file, which may not be ideal, but you can zoom...
-
Yes, it is blocking, but it is quite possible that colors near cut-off area are not converted properly. Sensor color conversion algorithm is optimized for 'normal' (not in statistical sense)...

If SD14 and SD15 filters are same, then look here: http://photospares.co.uk/sigma/sd_accessories.htm

IIRC Cornerfix successfully corrects DNG files, produced from older X3F versions. These files are for sure linear DNGs.

In SPP picture browser window, select required files (Ctrl-click adds/removes selection, Shift-click select range - like in windows explorer), select menu Edit and White Balance... from there.
Or,...

Maybe you should make your raw file (X3F) available? Currently it is hard to say, is this camera or processing issue - and hard to give any advice to avoid such problems in future.

Interesting news, thank you for posting!
X3F capable Milbeaut is custom item anyway (demosaicing part has to be replaced with something other for example), so it is possible that TrueII is able to...

I have an idea - ID attempts to recover out of gamut or clipped reds, but their recovery algorithm is not ideal. Of course this is pure speculation; I'm Windows user and thereby have never used ID.

Can someone please tell to him/her (I mean moderator, not Roland) that he/she doesn't know s*** about moderating forums? Really, almost every (more or less) interesting thread, started by Roland...

Just write to Iridient and offer your raw file - I'm sure they will find a solution (and probably fix some bugs).

Send two consecutive numbered damaged X3F files to me (e-mail address should be visible in my profile). If I am able to recover these, then we can recover most of other images also.
