do I see orbs?

Direct link | Posted on May 15, 2012 at 05:46 UTC as 1st comment

Why is everybody starting the orb bashing again.
Lets wait untill the 12th, than there is sufficient time to waste your time on orb bashing if the Fuji solution is not what you expected.

It looks like loads of people have nothing else to do than repeat themselves on an issue well known to the world.

And there is no excuse like: Fuji must be made aware of this problem, as they are now.

So go out and take some good pics and show them in this forum (if u do own a cam or x 10, which I do doubt the bashers do)

I am tired to read the same mantra all over and over.
Get positive

ProfHankD: I don't have one of these cameras, but it looks to me like the primary problem is sensor pixel leakage, which would explain why lower ISOs have it worse. If so, a firmware fix is not going to make the problem go away.

However, computationally recognizing this defect and artificially replacing the orbs with a synthesized structure is definitely feasible. Here's my 30-second try:

http://aggregate.org/DIT/FujiOrb/after.png

I can probably create a script to automatically do a little better than this. Is this good enough to be worthwhile?

Not bad

There is no way one can start a normal discussion overhere, without beeing accused to be paid by Fuji or beeing stupid.

Aparently one is not allowed to vent his own opinion anymore. Thought we live in a free world, but aparenty some folks like the eastern block Tactics: overshouting everyone untill everybody is brainwashed and has no longer his own opinion.

Correct me if I am wrong, so Francis easy scoring for u.

Typical american reply. Thought you were for freedom of thought and Speech.

Apparenly apart from your big mouth, you are different and dont allow other points of view than your own.

The world is larger than the us of a.
Hopefully you will find out some day

One guy, thinks its very difficult to give a normal sensible reply to Carver, so monkey like rply might be the correct phrase.

Howver, look in the mirror, dont like ur responses either?

Btw what do u mean by complaining, tried to start a normal conversation here, but if one says that one is ok with the x10. They are shot on the spot, as apparently people dont like to hear this, as their own opinion is the only correct one.

Have seen this b4 in this world, but since i still live in a free country i give my own opinion, like it or not.

wutsurstyle: Check this out. Sample picture from the X-S1 as reviewed in photographyBLOG. Zoom in at the two cars on the right, waiting at the crosswalk. Their shiny grill/fenders have glare that looks suspicious to me, especially the taxi cab. Look familiar anyone?

The X10 test on photographyblog is rating the X10 higly recommended and their test pics are fine.

Are they doing something wrong? That makes at least 2 happy users Francis ;-)

sarkozy: in some shooting situations can occur ORBS: The fact is most bored still. There are no X10, the error does not have. All have the error.
Nevertheless, it is "below the line" a very good camera with an innovative EXR sensor.

The error can not be solved by FUJI, not with the built-in sensor in the X10 and the X-S1

How do you know every X10 and X-S1 has this problem. You have inside information? Can you show me figures stating this is a general problem?
Do you own a Fuji Cam?

Just tried to reproduce orbs in P mode Is0 100/3200, EXR mode Iso 100/3200

Direct into lightbulb, no orbs. Reading somewhere else owners with this problem having cams starting with serial 21, mine starts with 14G.

Encountered same discussions 9 years ago with S2, later series producing faulty sensors. Everyone was shouting: Crap, all S2 have this problem. I do have one of the earlier serials and this one this still 100% ok after 10 years of use and missuse.

Btw Fuji did that time replace the faulty sensors free of charge. That cam was sold those days for €2600,00.

Reading all the postings I hve the feeling that the majority of the posters do not own a X10, but just like shouting in the crowd.

But I do believe there is an orb problem (maybe with not all the X10) so Fuji shud do something about it very quickly, inorder not to loose customers.

I wonder if this orb problem is relating to a certain batch of cams. (Same problem 9 years ago with S2).
Maybe users who encountered this problem can mention their serial nr so we can see if its narrowed down to a specific production period.

Btw, I am still not able to produce orbs, so I might be one of the lucky guys

(I also posted this request in the previous related item on this orb problem)

rodek: Francis Carver, are u just negative by nature or paid to give negative comments on this cam.

If you dont like this cam shut up, we now do know your point. Cant count ur negative replies, ending up with the same comments.

I do like this cam ,and so so many others.
Orbs happen, not only with this cam!

This is the same as years ago with the little Mercedes Benz, one reporter ditched it and suddenly it was a bad car, though they never cud reproduce the problem.

Gues u never saw this cam within 3 feet, or did actually use it.

Nobody asks u to buy it.

Why, do want to buy it cheaply?

rodek: Francis, apart from having a problem, you have a big filty mouth.
quote Oh, and BTW... why don't YOU shut the heck up, Fuji's most stalwart fanboy? unquote

I am not paid by Fuji or do work in the photoindustry-

My message is that you dominating this forum with stupid negative remarks,
whilst ventilating your opinion once or twice is sufficient, not giving your well known opinion after every posting.

I do like this cam, so do many others. So what.

Get a life and do something more usefull . As far as I can see you do not own any cam. So what is your experience? Where are your pics showing your problem?

Think you never owned a cam or ever took a pic in your life.

Back up your remarks with evidence or go to another forum annoying people.

I wish you a nice positive day without too many orbs

Francis, I do think u shud get some professional help before ur problem is getting worse and becoming irreversible
