CameraLabTester: Anybody like guess what's going to happen to the following in the future?
1. The FujiFilm X10 (aka X10rb)
2. FujiFilm cameras as a whole
3. FujiFilm stocks
4. Ranters and defenders on this thread
5. DPReviews' vigil on this topic (will they give up chasing this anomaly or keep up the pressure like in the Orbgate debacle?)
So shall we see...
.
Very good "X10rb" - great. Said already, you hate or you love them. I love her anyway, the new cult-camera Fuji "X10orb" in twenty years worth a fortune. . .

Jimmy jang Boo: For $100 less than the price of the X-100, you can buy a Pentax Q without the luxury of orbs in smaller, lighter package that is better built and far more versatile.
no, please no Pentax Q

frank_be: I own a Fuji X10 and I'm actually more disapointed in it's low light AF performance than in the orbs.
That I can not confirm. In addition to the orbs, the X10 is excellent. Especially in low light - especially in Pro.Lowlight mode, you see photos of @sarkozy:
Allan K: I have found that the firmware update fixes the problem in daylight shots but only in EXR mode. It seems to make no difference to white discs caused by by bright highlights due to indoor lighting or night shots.
The higher the ISO does not solve the problem. It's still there, whether with 1.02 or 1.03

The Firmewareupdate brings nothing. . . I have it removed because it is the IQ verschelchtert in EXR mode

graynoise: As a very satisfied owner of the X10, I'm surprised by the attention and anger the orb issue has generated. Perhaps I'm too cynical, but it feels like a bit of a beat-up. On one level I appreciate the attention to detail of the DPR test, but on the other hand I think it takes away from so many great things about this camera.
It would be interesting to see a show of hands from owners of the camera.
Pop Quiz, Fuji X10 orbs:
a) Major issue. I want my money back! b) Disappointing, but not a deal breaker c) Minor annoyance d) What's this about orbs?
Disclaimer: I don't shoot a lot of metallic balls with my X10, or sunsets over water, and before reading this test was unaware of the orb issue.
The orbs can at any time photographed / produces become: all reflections are dangerous: see you here:
max metz: I think these Canon G1X orbs match the X10 ones at ISO 400. http://g3.img-dpreview.com/D91DECE73AF1483A82BC0D2C0C372C62.jpg
It seems GaryJP has searched and found ORBS on his new CANON PowerShot G1 X, back in the beginning of February. The link above is to one of his Canon G1 X gallery images.
clearly on the left are orbs - clearly G1X can also

unclebuzz: But, why do stills photographers want video anyway? The D700 is a very good camera, all was needed was an update!! Nearly every new camera on the market now has to have video, or the photographic world goes nuts - Why ? I'm a stills photographer - I want a Pro digital stills camera, without having to buy a Leica M9! Please Nikon remember what stills photography is all about? Maybe Nikon and Canon should just bite the bullet, and start making mobile phones!!
Yes - agree Nikon - Stay by photo and video do not touch - you know nothing about it and The D700 is still an excellent camera and I would rather buy than a D800 with the 36MP (!?)
