Waterproof to 15m is NOT an Underwater Camera! And much less the successor of the Nikonos V or RS that could go to 75m!!!! It's like the watches that say "Waterproof to 30m" but can barely go under...

I have used (and still do) several Sigma lens. To compare them with Zeiss is, to say the least, ridiculous!
I am not saying SOME Sigma lens cannot have an usable IQ, they do!
But to begin with,...
-
Yes! Sigma is much better! I am going to sell all my Zeiss lenses...
And by the way, recommend all my fellow Pros to stop using Zeiss...
And also recommend Zeiss Factories to close....
The rubbish...

Again, ALL the 70-200mm (or 80-200 AF & AF-S) I used were NO match for my 300mm f/4 AF-S!
Only lens I can compare it, for better, is the 400mm...

Bad copy?
I wouldn't know? It was not 'bad', just not BETTER then other 400mm I have used, and the 300mm!
If you are happy with your, fine for me! I'm glad...

Why you don't RENT one and see for yourself????
Always the BEST way!
Never trust what you see on the net, much less the opinions of so many 'experts'!
Just try it yourself! And see if it is sharp...
-
Sorry to disagree! With the disagreement!
I had the 200-400mm for less then 2 months: not only it was noticeably less sharp then my (then) 300mm AFS f/4, but it was so heavy I could not use it so...

The point in using AF lens is to focus faster and more accurately then by eye with MF. In Macro photography, that is NOT the case! Yes, you can use AF, but it is seldom not so precise or fast.

...and Voigtlander 180mm f/4 APO with Extension Tubes! Couldn't be happier...
All of them I use in Manual...

You always assume you know everything and the other are just... stupid...
I have used dozens of AF Tele lens before, from the different Sigma 400mm APO, the 500mm, the Sigma zooms, etc.
And the...

Use a D lens and a none D lens in any situation, and tell me if you find any difference in exposure.
The D lens were for the time of the 'old' TTL flash.... and still, for most occasions, there...

Kidding? You are much better?
No time for fools....

A nightmare for who?
How did photographers work before the days of AF?
I have been using AF since 1987, but these past years use more and more MF.
And I'm not getting younger, nor my eyesight...

I've just installed both on my 2 cameras. Nikon is very sparse in information about what it does in reality!
Any more information?

Why nobody tells the Truth? Leica are JUST Panasonic cameras, with cosmetic changes and a higher price tag!!!!! Buy Panasonic, same lens and specs, and save 1000's..... Many examples around!
-
For Portraits?
No lens would beat the Zeiss 100mm!
Considered by most to be one of the BEST lens around!
No AF tough... But not at all a problem for most Portraits Types...

All the lens you can carry, a flash for sure, plus the most exotic lens you can grab, from a Super Wide to the big teles 400mm and up...
They are those extremes witch will make you do different...

Again, I know what I am talking about... Having used several 200mm versions from Nikon, both Primes and zooms, I now settled for the Gem of the teles, the Voigtlander SL APO 180mm f/4.
The most...
