There's been a lot of good advice given here. I'll add my 2 cents.
1. Simplify the lens choice. Just use the 12-50. More than the 100mm equivalent telephoto it affords is really the fringe...

From my perspective, the OMD stabilization does no wrong. I didn't change the IS setting when I shot this:

I was panning like crazy to keep the thing...

The E-M5 can produce unsightly purple blooming with many lenses, but it is without doubt worse with the 12-35 and 7-14 than others. It's not just photographing against the sun. I've got examples...

Yes, hopefully Olympus will release a competing lens that eases the purple blooming with the 12-35 on the EM5. Be warned the 7-14 is similarly affected. But you can get the same thing with the 9-18...

So 7-14 Panasonic it is. It's either that or the 9-18 you already have found wanting. I was in the same situation, except that I felt that even though my 9-18 was a good copy that didn't matter...

When I see a scene built for a particular rectilinear lens I generally know it. Not so much with the fish. But every once in a while, it all works out anyway.
*edit* Wow, those really look poor...

There are only two really functional issues between the options you mention. Stabilization and lens quality. The OMD's stabilization is much better than that of the E-PM2. Much better. If you shoot...

I think Panasonic will actually give you $5 if you accept a new GX1. If you liked the GF1, the GX1 ought to be a pure bundle of joy in your eyes.
I use both Oly and Panasonic bodies, with the OMD...

The only way Walmart is going to get the deal they require is to buy them direct from Sandisk. Smaller outfits like camera stores are ever so much more likely to buy in quantities small enough to...

as those who are too cheap to buy an OMD would have you believe.

I bought one as the cheap way to 1:1 macro when m43 was still a secondary system for me, and also like the lens. I haven't tried it since I got my OMD; I need to.
That first shot is golden, BTW.

Now that the OMD's sensor has appeared in other cameras (E-PL5, E-PL6, E-PM2, E-P5 and Panasonic GH3), the really unique things about the OMD are limited to the awesome stabilization and the...

Basically all the important fundamental stuff is very good. Sensor, most aspects of the AF, quality of the viewfinder, and overall speed are great. Build is exemplary. Style is very good. The...

I'm not giving reward points for weight and heft - they aren't exactly positives in themselves. The whole equivalence thing isn't a big deal, but the pricing is. You can get a EPL-5 and 45/1.8 for...

Unless C-AF is substantially improved over the E-M5, it doesn't matter anyway. With 9FPS in S-AF you can get several frames before your subject has had a chance to move far enough to affect focus...

They have a bundle with camera, 17/1.8 lens, and VF4 for 1449. If you consider the current separate prices of 449 and 279 for the lens and finder, respectively, the bundle is priced right.
I used...
